Sunday's Week 10 of the NFL season is capped off with a terrific Sunday Night Football matchup when the San Francisco 49ers host Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers. Handicapper Matt McCuen is here with the best bet for the 49ers vs. Chargers.
ANALYSIS

Week 10 Sunday Night Football Prediction, Pick Against the Spread, Odds: 49ers vs. Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers vs. the San Francisco 49ers will duel things out from the Bay Area for Sunday Night Football. For as many bad primetime games as we have had this NFL season, this should be a great one. These are two teams that should be in the playoffs come January.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Chargers Prediction

The Chargers are led by one of the best young Quarterbacks in the game in the form of Justin Herbert. Herbert will have a tough challenge today against one of the best defenses in the NFL. Los Angeles has had to deal with a lot of injuries this year. As of late, they have had to deal with injuries to their top two wideouts, Mike Williams and Keenan Allen. This has made things more challenging for Herbert and this Chargers offense. They will have their hands full today.

The 49ers, on the other side of things, come into this game playing to the tune of a 4-4 record. This is undoubtedly the best .500 team in the NFL, and I am confident in saying that they will end the year over the .500 mark. San Francisco has had a lot of things happen during its season. They handed the keys to second-year QB Trey Lance to begin the year. Lance was injured in Week 2, and his injury was deemed to be season-ending. That forced backup Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo into action. The funny thing with Jimmy G was he pretty much openly said he would not return as a backup to the 49ers. The team would end up giving him a great deal for a backup QB, and once again, he is the guy.

The 49ers made a splash at the trade deadline when they landed star running back Christian McCaffrey. The addition of McCaffery makes this one of the best rushing offenses in football with all the weapons that they have. The 49ers come into play tonight as a 7.5-point home favorite.

I am going to back the dog tonight. I think that this will be a sweat but giving Justin Herbert this many points is an overreaction line to me. I love this San Francisco roster, but 7.5 points is a ton for an offense that can be as lethal as the Chargers can be. If Los Angeles can come out strong early, I think that they will be in a great spot to cover this number. I will trust Herbert and the Chargers to keep this game close and stay within the number tonight.
