In 2022, Nick Bolton surpassed Derrick Johnson’s franchise record of 179 tackles set in 2011, and the second-year LB finished with the second most tackles in all of football. Bolton played on 97.4% of the Kansas City Chiefs' defensive snaps last year, and as their green dot defender, he will be an every-down player once again this season.

Detroit Lions vs. Kansas City Chiefs Prediction
The Detroit Lions drafted Jahmyr Gibbs with the 12th overall pick in the draft and signed former Chicago Bears RB David Montgomery to a three-year deal. Both backs should play a big role in the Lions offense, which means Bolton is in line for a busy night.
Jared Goff also lives in the short/intermediate passing game, which will also give Bolton more opportunities for tackles. Last year, Bolton recorded at least nine tackles and assists in 15 out of 20 games, and he could put up even better numbers in his third season. The biggest story coming out of Chiefs training camp was the absence of Chris Jones, who is holding out for a new contract and will not suit up for the season opener. The Chiefs will look to Nick Bolton, their leading tackler from a season ago, to lead the defense, and I expect him to be up for the challenge.
