3 minNew York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills Prediction: Stefon Diggs, Garret Wilson and Josh Allen Set for Big Night
This is one of the hardest games to handicap in Week 1 in my opinion for a number of reasons. The first and most important in my opinion is because of the addition of Aaron Rodgers to the Jets offense. Rodgers, a 4-time NFL MVP and Superbowl champion, got his wish and was traded to the Jets in the offseason and will play the first game in his professional career for a team other than Green Bay. While Aaron Rodgers is getting up there in age, his level of play has never wavered as he has won 2 of the last 3 MVPs including back-to-back MVPs in 2020 and 2021. Now Rodgers gets paired with future NFL superstar wide receiver, Garrett Wilson, who put up 80+ catches and 1100+ yards last season with subpar quarterback play. The possibilities for the Jets team are endless as a lack of top-tier quarterback play was their Achilles heel last season.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Jets have an elite front 7 and one of the best young cornerbacks in the league in Sauce Gardner, who has a tall task in front of him tonight as he will likely be chasing Stefon Diggs all over the field tonight. Diggs and Josh Allen are one of the most prolific offensive duos in the NFL and it will be fun to watch this Bills offense face off against this much improved and near elite level Jet's D. With regards to handicapping this game, I went a bit of a different route and came up with a 3 leg Same Game Parlay that I absolutely love for this Monday Night Football matchup.

New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills Prediction
First Leg: Josh Allen 25+ Rushing Yards
Josh Allen has always been a big threat with his legs ever since he entered the league. Last season he racked up 762 yards on over 6 yards per carry and more importantly, he topped this number easily in both matchups against the Jets last season. In the first matchup last season, the Bills were 10.5-point road favorites and lost straight up as Allen did not have a great passing day but was their leading rusher. He tallied 86 rushing yards on 9 carries and had a long of 36. Allen was under duress all night as the Jets sacked him 5 times in that game, and I fully expect the Jets defensive line to get pressure on him tonight which should allow for more scrambling opportunities for Allen to top this number. The Bills also gameplan designed runs for Allen within their offense too and this is a very attainable number that he should be able to top given the Bills gameplan and the possible scrambling opportunities against this solid Jets defensive line.
Second Leg: Stefon Diggs 40+ receiving yards.
This leg pretty much speaks for itself. Diggs is the number 1 receiver on one of the league's top offenses. Diggs and Allen have built a very solid rapport over the last few seasons and there is no reason why that success should stop now. Diggs racked up 93 yards in his first matchup against the Jets last season but only tallied 3 catches for 37 yards in their second matchup. I have a feeling this left a bad taste in Digg's mouth coming into this game as he should have a little extra motivation to show out against Sauce Gardner and company.
Third Leg: Garrett Wilson 40+ Receiving Yards
Wilson is the prime breakout candidate in this Jets offense that is now commanded by future hall of famer, Aaron Rodgers. Wilson put up incredible numbers last season and things should only get better for him now with one of the best signal callers of all time under center and throwing him balls. Last year against the Bills, Wilson put up 8 catches for 92 yards and 6 catches for 78 yards in their respective matchups last season and should be primed for another solid performance tonight with at least 40 receiving yards.
