I want to get this in as quickly as possible because I see it getting heavily juiced by kickoff. TJ Hockenson finally got his big payday, and now it’s time for him to continue living up to that contract. In Week 1, he did just that and should continue to do so.
Minnesota Vikings vs. Philadelphia Eagles Prediction
In Week 1, we saw Hockenson reel in eight balls on nine targets. Last year, he played ten games for Minnesota and averaged six catches per game since joining the team. The Eagles defense will definitely prioritize limiting Justin Jefferson, and Darius Slay should give him his best effort. If Jefferson is doubled or shadowed by an elite corner, then we should see the ball spread more than usual.
Hockenson is a special talent, and Philly allowed the second most receptions to all tight ends in Week 1. Hunter Henry and Mike Gesicki both had great games against the Eagles last week, and Hock is a better talent than both. This game projects to be a passing game script for Minnesota as they are touchdown underdogs and should need to pass throughout all four quarters.
For minimal juice, I love this play and considered it for even more than 1 unit, but it’s too early in the year for big swings like that unless it’s a clear mispricing. I thought this would open at 5.5 with plus odds to the over, so when I saw 4.5 with no juice, I circled it immediately. Let's win another TNF bet, and let's roll!
