Minnesota Vikings vs. Philadelphia Eagles Prediction

The Vikings lost their Week 1 game at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The loss was a surprise as Minnesota was seen as the favorite and played exceptionally well at home a season ago.

Minnesota entered this with loads of question marks.

The Vikings finished 2022 with a record of 13-4. Despite the strong regular season, the Vikings lost their first playoff game at home to the New York Giants.

Many believed the Vikings were overrated and proved to be correct.

The Vikings had one of the worst defenses in football a season ago, as they ranked second to last in yards allowed per game (388.7). Additionally, no team had more luck than the Vikings, as they had a point differential of -3 on the season.

Kirk Cousins will be the man responsible for leading this Vikings offense. Cousins played okay in Week 1, passing for 344 yards, but turned the ball over twice.

Justin Jefferson is the best playmaker in football and is a matchup nightmare. Jefferson ended week one with nine catches for 150 yards.

The Minnesota defense was not able to get some crucial stops late and allowed 20 points to one of the worst offenses in football.

The Eagles will look to defend their crown as the champions of the NFC.

Philly had a magical season in 2022 and feels as if they have a roster that is talented enough to compete for a Super Bowl once again.

The Eagles were tested in Week 1, pulling out a close win over the New England Patriots 25-20.

Jalen Hurts inked a massive contract in the off-season that, at the time, made him the highest-paid quarterback in football.

Hurts played solid in Week 1 but knows that he is much better than what he put on display. Hurts threw for 170 yards and one touchdown. Additionally, Hurts rushed for 73 yards.

AJ Brown led the Eagles in the receiving game. Brown had seven catches for 79 yards. Fellow wide receiver Devonta Smith had a touchdown catch.

The Eagles defense played well, but they are better than what they showed in the first game of the season.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Philadelphia Eagles Pick

The Eagles will play much better football than what we saw in Week 1.

Minnesota is a team that got extremely lucky a season ago. Overall, this is a below-average football team, particularly on defense.

The Eagles offense will be able to run through this Vikings defense, which will open up the passing game.

This is a tough spot on a short week for the Vikings on the road, who, in addition, will be without their starting center.

Pick: Philadelphia Eagles -6 -112 is currently the best odds. Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds for this pick
