Vikings vs. Eagles Player Props: Will Justin Jefferson Shine on Thursday Night Football?

I woke up this morning hoping to see Eagles -6.5 tickets all over my feed. Instead, I was greeted with numerous Vikings +6.5 tickets. The Vikings have turned out to be a pretty trendy dog for tonight’s TNF matchup in Philadelphia. It seems like the public has forgotten about Kirk Cousins’ struggles in primetime. I’m not saying you should take the Eagles on the spread tonight, but I do recommend staying off a side in this one. I’ve got my eyes on a player prop you probably weren’t expecting…

Vikings vs. Eagles Prediction

Justin Jefferson is one of the best wide receivers in football. Unfortunately, his quarterback is Kirk Cousins. Captain Kirk is an above-average quarterback on Sundays at 1 p.m. ET, but in primetime games, he’s one of the worst QBs in the league. Kirk will struggle against one of the better defenses in football tonight.

There are some new faces on this Vikings offense, mainly Jordan Addison, whose presence is a problem for Jefferson in the redzone. Not only did Addison snag a touchdown instead of “JJettas” last weekend, but a lot of the clips coming out of Minnesota training camp have been centered around Addison. He’s reminding me of Jahan Dotson’s arrival in Washington last year when he lead all rookie receivers in touchdowns. Terry McLaurin still got over a thousand receiving yards, but Dotson stole a lot of his touchdowns. Don’t be surprised if Addison is the bigger redzone threat with Jefferson getting double-covered.

JJettas odds to score a touchdown tonight opened up at (-125) but have since moved to (+120) one some books. With the total moving up from the 48 openers, it’s weird to see the Vikings' best receiver’s odds moving against him. Could it have something to do with Darius Slay being matched up against the star wide receiver? We all know what happened the last time these two faced off…

This might not surprise you, but Justin Jefferson is the most-bet ATTS in tonight’s contest. Fading the public isn’t always profitable, but it sure is a great sign to see reverse-line movement on the odds. With everyone expecting Jefferson to “break the seal” and score his first touchdown of the season tonight, fade the public, and bet him to stay out of the end-zone.
