After getting routed 40-0 at home by the Cowboys in Week 1, Daniel Jones, Brian Daboll, and the rest of the New York Giants head out to the desert for their first road game against the Arizona Cardinals. While the Cardinals have been synonymous with tanking for No. 1 college football prospect quarterback Caleb Williams, they fought hard in Week 1 on the road against the Washington Commanders, scooping up a fumble for their only touchdown during the 20-16 loss.
Cardinals quarterback Josh Dobbs is still learning the playbook, but he made some solid throws, turning mostly to veteran tight end Zach Ertz for a team-high ten targets. Arizona moved the ball effectively between the 20s, but they had to settle for two red zone field goals, which won't win them many games if they continue to stall.
Arizona running back James Conner is also questionable with a calf injury, while the Giants expect tight end Darren Waller to be full-go after dealing with a lingering hamstring injury last week and earlier this week. Daniel Jones was paid and extended this offseason, so New York will hope its franchise quarterback can bounce back against a gritty Cardinals defense led by first-year Head Coach Jonathan Gannon, who was the Defensive Coordinator for Philadelphia's Super Bowl run last season.

New York Giants vs. Arizona Cardinals Prediction
The line has already shrunk from Cardinals +6 to Cardinals +4.5 at FanDuel Sportsbook, which aligns with the trends surrounding this matchup. Arizona is 5-1 ATS in its last six games against the Giants, including 5-1 SU. Meanwhile, the Giants are 5-1 ATS across their last six road games.
Saquon Barkley could be in store for a much bigger game, as the Giants' offensive line, which played well down the stretch in 2022, got manhandled by Micah Parsons and the Dallas defensive front last week. Jones plays best when the running game is functioning properly, executing the RPO with his blend of size, speed, and vision, which is helped by Barkley's presence.
Each of the last four games between the Giants and Cardinals has gone under the total points line, which is set to 39.5, one of several games under 40 total points at FanDuel Sportsbook. This makes sense, especially with how stagnant the Cardinals' offense looked in scoring position. Therefore, we should avoid wagering on the point total line on either side in this matchup.
The Cardinals covered +7 on the road against Washington, which is a bit less talented from a personnel and continuity standpoint compared to the Giants, but the Cardinals are on an eight-game winning streak ATS against NFC East opponents. Plus, they've won the last four head-to-head matchups straight up against Big Blue.
While the Cardinals' moneyline is tempting to wager at +180 odds, I prefer taking the sure bet and seizing winnings instead. This means we're betting on Arizona to cover as +4.5 point home underdogs at -110 odds.
