This number feels like such a value. Whether CJ Stroud plays or not, I like this bet either way, as I project Stroud and Davis Mills to be comparable at this point in the rookie's career. There are so many reasons to like this I’m not sure where to begin
Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans Prediction
First off, Dameon Pierce hit this prop in 10 of his last 12 games last year. The first game of the year was admittedly against the Colts, but that was a weird week where they didn’t know the talent on their hands and also gave Rex Burkhead 14 carries. This year, we will see Singletary be the guy who steals touches, but it should only be about a 30% share.
Pierce only had 11 rush attempts in Week 1, which is why we are getting this number, but that was in a negative run script while trailing against Baltimore all game. This game projects to be much closer scoring where running will be viable throughout all four quarters.
Last week, we saw the Colts allow 26 handoffs to RBs. Pierce is the alpha in the running back room for Houston, and 14+ feels very obtainable for him. Last year, Indianapolis was tied for fourth in most rush attempts to running backs. I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Let's roll!
