Before Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles on Monday, the New York Jets vs. Dallas Cowboys game was circled as one of the best games of the NFL season. Unfortunately for Rodgers and the Jets, we will now be seeing Zach Wilson under center. I’m willing to bet this isn’t as bad of a situation as the public is stating. Are oddsmakers giving the Jets too many points on Sunday without their star QB?

New York Jets vs. Dallas Cowboys Prediction
After watching the Jets come back and defeat the Bills on MNF, the Jets’ defense was what impressed me most. This defensive unit is legit, and their defensive-minded coach, Robert Saleh, already has them in mid-season form. Not only do they have one of the best secondaries in football, but their defensive line led by Quinnen Williams is a force to be reckoned with.
The Cowboys’ defense might be the only unit that compares to the Jets this season, as these are probably the two best defenses in the NFL facing off. The public is overreacting to Zach Wilson taking over for Rodgers; Wilson did enough to come back from a 10-point deficit and beat one of the best teams in the AFC on Monday. Maybe an offseason learning behind Rodgers has improved the young QB’s repertoire.
The Cowboys just destroyed their division rival in a 40-0 drumming on SNF. They think they are the best team in football after that performance, and I don’t blame them. This is a great spot for bettors getting too many points with a backup QB against a complacent Cowboys team that has yet to give up a single point the season. Expect Wilson and the Jets to catch Dallas sleeping, keeping this game closer than it should be on paper.
I’ll bet anyone under center to cover 8.5 points with the Jets' defense; I don’t care if it’s Aaron Rodgers, Zach Wilson, or a doordash driver. That is simply too many points to give that elite defense, no matter who’s playing quarterback. This line is a complete overreaction to Aaron Rodgers going down and the Cowboys’ legacy performance on SNF. Fade the Cowboys and back the Jets’ elite defense to keep this one within the number.
