This isn’t flashy whatsoever, but this has value. Adam Trautman isn’t a big-name player that most fans even know the name of. With that being said, he is a solid tight end who could make a real name for himself in the next couple of weeks as he did in Week 1.
Trautman had five receptions in Week 1 against the Raiders. He now faces a Washington team that allowed eight receptions to tight ends in their opening game against Arizona. We saw Zach Ertz and Josh Dobbs connect on plenty of short routes that may not result in big yards but were consistent receptions.
A big plus to this bet is that Greg Dulcich was placed on the IR and will miss at least four games with a hamstring injury. This leaves Trautman as the undeniable top tight end option and should see plenty of work as Courtland Sutton/Jerry Jeudy are likely in tougher battles on the outside.
I feel like this bet opened late for a reason, and I’m hoping it remains under the radar for us for not just this week but potentially the weeks to come. Sean Payton loves his tight ends, and Trautman is young and has a chance to prove to people that he can consistently see high volume. Let's roll!
