5 minNew York Giants vs. San Francisco 49ers Best Bet: Will Daniel Jones Find Open Receivers on TNF?
It’s been a brutal start to the 2023 season for the New York Giants, who lost 40-0 to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 and barely escaped with a victory against the lowly Arizona Cardinals in Week 2. Daniel Jones clutched up for the Giants in the second half, looking sharper than ever. Will “Danny Dimes” carry that momentum from last week’s comeback into tonight’s matchup against one of the league’s best?

New York Giants vs. San Francisco 49ers Prediction
If you asked 100 people who the best team is through the first two weeks of the season, the answer you’d hear most would be the San Francisco 49ers. Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffery have dominated both the Steelers and Rams’ defenses, putting up 30 points in each game. Things are going a little too well for the 49ers right now, and this is a perfect let-down spot as they welcome in the struggling Giants.
I believe in Daniel Jones. Although he hasn’t had the best success in primetime games in his career, I’ve been impressed with his progression over the years. Tonight, he will face by far the toughest test of his season to date, as he’ll be facing an elite 49ers DLine with multiple Giants’ linemen out. On paper, Nick Bosa and the 49ers front-seven should feast tonight.
Let’s not sleep on Coach Daboll… even on a short week, I’m willing to bet he’s been working with his QB on getting the ball out early and often tonight. Not only are the Giants playing this game without two members of their starting OL, but they’ll be without Saquon Barkley. The public is leaning into the Matt Breida revenge game narrative, but I don’t see any RB having success against this defensive line. If the Giants want to win this game and shock the world, it’s going to have to be Daniel Jones beating the 49ers overrated secondary through the air.
Not only will the Giants most likely be playing from behind in this contest, but they’ll have limited success running the ball behind this banged-up OL. Expect the Giants to be extremely pass-heavy tonight; it’s the only chance they have at finding any success against this defense.
Although I do lean the Giants on the spread, my favorite play in this game is a player prop. Daniel Jones will be utilized early and often in this one, and with a duct-taped offensive line tasked with restraining Nick Bosa, expect plenty of check-downs and chick passes. Bet on Danny Dimes to complete 20 or more passes tonight; the game plan for the Giants tonight has to be beating the 49ers’ secondary through the air.
