Steelers vs. Raiders Same Game Parlay: Can We Trust Kenny Pickett, Steelers on Sunday Night Football?

The Pittsburgh Steelers are back in primetime for the second straight week, and they are underdogs once again. Both teams enter this game 1-1, and both are looking to improve from last season. The books have the Las Vegas Raiders winning this one with a line of -2.5. I have a same-game parlay that gives us a +761 payout on Sunday Night Football.

Steelers vs. Raiders Same Game Parlay

Leg 1: Steelers ML

Mike Tomlin proved once again that he is just incredible as an underdog. He is the most profitable active coach as an underdog, and he is the most underrated coach in the league, in my opinion. The Steelers have played two incredibly tough games against the 49ers and Browns in the first two weeks, and I think that is skewing the public perception of this team.

The Steelers may very well have one of the top defenses in the NFL. T.J. Watt is making a serious case as the best defensive player in the NFL. He is all over the field, batting down passes, sacking the quarterback, and even scoring defensive touchdowns. He is the x-factor of this defense, and Minkah Fitzpatrick and Patrick Peterson have been holding down the secondary.

The Steelers went 8-2 once T.J. Watt returned last season, and that is not a coincidence. This defense is legit, and I love them as underdogs again with one of the best coaches in the league as an underdog. Give me the plus money and the Steelers to improve to 2-1.

Leg 2: Kenny Pickett 250+ Alternate Passing Yards

Kenny Pickett may have had a "bad" game last week, but they still won. Looking back at Pickett's first two games this season, he has played two of the top defenses in the NFL. The 49ers' defense is probably just behind the Cowboys for number one, and the Browns I have fourth behind the Steelers. Pickett passed his passing yards line in both games, hitting 232 and 222 over the last two games respectively. His line is 221 this week, but I'm taking the alternate total at 250+ for +250.

Pickett is not as bad as those first two games against gauntlet defenses have made him look. He also has George Pickens, Jaylen Warren, and Allen Robinson to throw to, which is not a bad receiving group. Najee Harris has not gotten much on the ground, so I think this is another game Pickett has to win through the air.

Leg 3: George Pickens 60+ Alternate Receiving Yards

If Pickett is going to throw 250+, Pickens will have 60+. This is a correlating pick, but if one hits, the other will. Like I was just saying about defenses, Pickens has had tough matchups against the Browns and 49ers defense, and now he faces the Raiders, who do not have a great secondary.

Last week, even in a game in which the offense looked horrible on paper, Pickens caught four passes for 127 yards. He now has 163 yards on the season, playing two top defenses. Pickens has been Pickett's favorite target so far, getting a ridiculous 17 targets through the first two games. Pickens is the best receiver on the Steelers, and I expect him to have a big game against the Raiders, taking a step back from playing against two elite defenses.
