Many people expected the Philadelphia Eagles to be 2-0 at this point but the Tampa Bay Buccanneers hot start was very unexpected. Not many people expected much out of this Bucs team with no Tom Brady, but they have turned some heads. Can they beat the Eagles at home tonight? Let's break it down.

The Philadelphia Eagles come into this matchup with a record of 2-0 but it has not been smooth sailing to this point. They blew a big lead in Week 1 against the New England Patriots and barely held on for a five-point win and then in Week 2, their defense nearly let them down as they escaped with a six-point win even while allowing 28 points and 374 total yards.

Eagles vs. Buccaneers Prediction
The Eagles were gashed by Kirk Cousins in that game as he threw for 364 yards and four total touchdowns. The Eagles did have a lead for most of the game which forced the Minnesota Vikings into a negative game script so they HAD to throw but still, the Eagles secondary really struggled for most of that game, and they will need to be better tonight.
On the other side, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also enter this game with a 2-0 record but it is hard to put much stock in their win against the Bears due to how inept the Bears have looked through three weeks. These two teams do have a common opponent as they both have beaten the Vikings.
In Week 1 against Minnesota, Tampa Bay defeated the Vikings by a score of 20-17 in what was a very low scoring game that was dominated by Minnesota for a large majority of it. The Vikings actually outgained the Bucs 369 to 242, but turnovers were the difference as the Bucs won the turnover battle 3-0. The Bucs offense has actually done a great job of holding onto the ball this season as Baker Mayfield has been very efficient and sure handed to this point.
Mayfield has yet to throw an interception on the season and the Bucs as a whole have yet to turn the ball over in either game and have forced five turnovers of their own. While Mayfield and this Bucs offense has been running fairly smoothly to this point, I think they are due for some regression in the turnover department. Mayfield has always been a bit of a gunslinger with multiple seasons in Cleveland with 10+ interceptions including 21 interceptions in 2019.
This Eagles defense and front seven in particular will be the toughest and most stout that Bayfield has faced to this point, and I think he will be under duress all night. I fully expect the Eagles defense to force at least two turnovers tonight and they have also been very good at stopping the run to this point as they have only allowed 3.4 yards per rushing attempt good for sixth in the NFL.
The Eagles should be able to stop the run which should put Baker into some disadvantageous passing downs due to the pressure I expect him to be under from Jalen Carter and company. With that being said, I am rolling with Eagles -4.5 at -112 for 1U as my most confident NFL Play of the Day for tonight's action.
