Monday Night Football Picks: Targeting Eagles vs. Buccaneers, Rams vs. Bengals

We have a great Monday Night Football Week 3 slate. First we have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers facing the Philadelphia Eagles and then we have the Los Angeles Rams facing the Cincinnati Bengals. I'm so excited for tonight I thought I cook up some Monday Night Football picks.

Monday Night Football Picks

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Philadelphia Eagles

I love the resurgence of Baker Mayfield. I think people love him, he had an outrageous amount of heart and he is good for the game. The Bucs have looked solid with him under center and last week the offense really started to fire off in the passing game with Mayfield going for 300+ yards in that win. The team looks solid and an 2-0 start for any team can build momentum that was not thought to be there before the season.

With that said, Philly is on a revenge tour. They were exceptional in the regular season last year and came up one win short of that Lombardi Trophy last season but they return nearly every important piece of that squad and they are pushing for another run here. They have some injuries in the secondary which is some cause for concern but the offense is still elite and they can play to strengths elsewhere. I love Baker but I do not see them knocking off Philly in primetime tonight.

Los Angeles Rams vs. Cincinnati Bengals

As I said in my first article tonight, The Rams have been moving the ball effectively through the first two weeks of the season and I do not see a reason why they wouldn't tonight. San Francisco has a legit top 2-3 defense in the league and they still were rolling with them last week. Sean McVay is an exceptional coach, Matthew Stafford is a veteran quarterback with talented receivers and a young super star in Kyren Williams next to him in the backfield.

Neither teams defense has looked great through the first two weeks and the Bengals need to get the offense rolling. They have scored touchdowns on just two of 20 possessions so far this season and both came in the second half last week. I know Joe Burrow has been battling an injury but he wouldn't be playing if he didn't think he could get the job done. I expect a high scoring affair here tonight.
