Jalen Hurts has struggled in his career against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the chemistry hasn’t been great early in the season. Instead of betting a side in this sketchy MNF game, let’s target a player prop in tonight’s contest.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Prediction
Hurts and AJ Brown were seen arguing in the middle of last Thursday’s game against the Vikings. This isn’t anything out of the ordinary in the NFL, but the media always likes to blow this type of stuff out of proportion. The narrative is that AJ Brown isn’t happy with his lack of targets. If anything, this narrative makes me want to bet on AJ Brown to score a touchdown even more.
AJ Brown was a touchdown machine last season, finding pay-dirt eleven times. The Eagles star receiver has only been targeted 16 times in 2023. Brown might not have the best matchup against a league-average secondary, but I’m expecting Hurts to look for his No. 1 receiver early and often.
The Bucs defensive line isn’t as impressive, and are one of the most overrated fronts in football in my opinion. Their best players can’t stay on the field, as Vita Vea (Q) and Calijah Kancey (O) are once again banged up. Hurts will have plenty of time to throw the ball tonight.
The Eagles will also have plenty of offensive possessions, as one of the best defensive lines in football looks to take advantage of a weak Tampa Bay OL. Philly also hasn’t looked nearly as sharp this year as they did on their 2022 NFC Championship run. Expect Coach Sirianni to keep his foot on the gas for all four quarters, leading to plenty of Hurts’ pass attempts. That’s not the play we’re taking in this MNF contest though…
These players are more tapped in to social media now than ever before. They’ve seen the chirps about the disconnect in this offense, and the concerns with Brown’s lack of targets. I’m willing to bet Jalen Hurts silences those doubters tonight by finding AJ Brown in the end zone. He’s (+135) to score a touchdown tonight, which would be his first of the season. If the Eagles want to look like one of the NFL’s elite teams, they need to target their star receiver at least ten times per game. Bet on AJ Brown to find the end zone tonight, silencing the doubts between him and Hurts’ relationship.
