The these two NFC teams faced off in 2022, it was a much closer game than the scoreboard indicated. It was a three point game in the fourth quarter before the Seattle Seahawks outscored the New York Giants 14-3 in the fourth to seal it. With the spread moving three and a half points towards Seattle, it seems like the public is expecting a similar outcome. I’m willing to bet it will play out much differently…

Seattle Seahawks vs. New York Giants Prediction
Although the Giants haven’t looked much like a team who made the playoffs last year, their opponents have been much better than Seattle’s. New York has faced two of the best teams in the NFC (San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys), while the Seahawks have faced the Carolina Panthers, Detroit, Lions and Los Angeles Rams. My question is… if the Seahawks are so good and just beat Detroit and Carolina, why did they open up an underdog against the lowly Giants?
Seattle might be the betting favorite now, but people forget they opened up +1 to a team that hasn’t covered all season. I don’t know about you guys, but my contrarian senses are tingling looking at the Giants getting 2.5 points in this spot. The expectations really can’t be lower for a Giants team who I still believe can get back to their 2022 playoff form, even without Saquon Barkley. Seattle’s given up the third-most rushing yards per game this season; whether it’s Saquon or Breida, it’s not going to matter.
The line movement on the spread is an overreaction to what Geno Smith and the Seahawks were able to do against two below-averages defenses the last two weeks. Although he dropped a dud against the 49ers last week, I liked what I saw against the Cardinals out of Daniel Jones and company.
I’m willing to bet that Coach Daboll figures out a way to keep this game close with an extra day of preparation. Buy low on the G-Men who have disappointed both NFL fans and sports bettors immensely this season. The stock is too high on the Seahawks coming off a ten point win against the feeble Panthers. Bet the Giants to cover for the first time this season on Monday Night Football.
