Right now, the San Francisco 49ers are the most complete team in football. Their defense is elite, Brock Purdy has found his rhythm, and Christian McCaffrey might win MVP this season. San Fran is 4-0 as they welcome the Dallas Cowboys into town for Sunday Night Football. Will the Cowboys shock the nation and hand the 49ers their first loss of the season, or will CMC run all over Dallas, leading San Francisco to their fifth straight victory?

Dallas Cowboys vs. San Francisco 49ers Prediction
If you forget about the Arizona game, Dallas looks like one of the best teams in football this season. I blame that loss on the significant lookahead spot for Dallas, who had the Patriots looming the following week. Dak and the Cowboys bounced back after an embarrassing loss as 11.5 point favorites with a 38-3 win against New England. I’m not putting too much thought into that week three dud of a game from the ‘Boys. I genuinely believe these are the two best teams in the NFC this season, and this will be a preview of the NFC Championship game in a few months…
I have loved what I’ve seen out of the Cowboys’ new-look offense this year. No more Kellen Moore has led to a more conservative game plan, something Dak has thrived in. He might not light up the scoreboard with 350+ passing yards and four touchdowns in this new offense, but it significantly boosts their chance of winning football games. Dan Quinn has made this defense better every season he’s been the DC in Dallas. Quinn might not have what it takes to succeed as a head coach, but he is surely one of the best defensive coordinators in the NFL.
I’m not trying to discredit the 49ers 4-0 start this year, but if you look at the competition they’ve played so far it isn’t very impressive. Tonight’s SNF matchup will be by far the toughest challenge for Coach Shanahan and the 49ers this season.
The Cardinals kept last week’s contest closer with San Francisco than the final scoreboard depicted. James Conner averaged nearly five YPC, and would’ve had a bigger impact if Arizona wasn’t playing from behind the majority of this game. I’m expecting Tony Pollard to have a great day on the ground, even against this elite San Fran defensive line.
The 49ers defense is elite, but their secondary is vulnerable. They are around the league’s average for YPG given up through the air in their first four games. This might not sound significant, but it’s not like they’ve faced great quarterbacks yet this season. If they’ve given up around the league-average for YPG through the air against Daniel Jones, Josh Dobbs and Kenny Pickett, imagine with Dak Prescott will do to this secondary tonight.
The Cowboys on the spread is the best play in tonight’s elite SNF contest. The public is hammering the 49ers to not only win this game tonight, but cover. Over 80% of bets are backing the 49ers on the moneyline tonight. Fade the public, and back the ‘Boys on the spread in San Fran tonight. Dak and TP are going to show the world that they are not only the best team in the NFC East, but one of the best teams in the entire conference. Fade the undefeated 49ers, and back Jerry and the ‘Boys on the road tonight.
