Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders Best Bet: Can Sam Howell, Commanders Keep This Game Close?

The Philadelphia Eagles are facing the Washington Commanders this week. Can Sam Howell and the Commanders keep this game close? NFL expert Krabs shares his Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders best bet.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders Best Bet: Can Sam Howell, Commanders Keep This Game Close?

The Washington Commanders have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the NFL this season. After starting 2-0, Washington has lost four of their last five games, including losses to the Chicago Bears and New York Giants. If Ron Rivera wants to coach this team next season, Sunday’s matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles is a must-win game.

There are rumors floating around that if Washington doesn’t win this game, they might start fielding these offers for some of the studs on their defensive line. Will Riverboat Ron and Sam Howell get a much-needed victory at home, or will Philadelphia win their seventh game of the season?

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders Prediction

The Eagles have the best rush defense in football. Luckily for Washington, they haven’t been able to run the ball behind their sketchy offensive line anyway. They’ve even moved around their center and guard for Sunday’s contest to try and buy more time for Howell against the Philly pass-rush. If the ‘Manders want to win this game, it is going to have to be through the air. Thankfully, the Eagles pass-defense has been sub-par to say the least in 2023.

Where have Terry McLaurin and Josh Dotson gone? You can’t keep these guys quiet forever, they are simply too good of receivers. Their 2023 breakout games are coming, why not have them against this overrated Philly secondary?

This Washington defense hasn’t played like we all expected yet, but after Jonathan Allen’s comments last week I don’t see how we won’t get their best effort on Sunday. With this hyped up DLine getting chirped for underperforming and potentially getting traded, expect these boys to be dialed in against one of the best offensive lines in the sport. One bright-spot of this Washington defense has been their redzone defense, ranked ninth in the league this season. We know Jack Del Rio’s defenses always start slow, expect the ‘Manders to get better every week on the defensive side of the ball.

The Eagles are the most overrated team in the NFL this season. They deserve credit for getting to 6-1, and they might sneak out another sketchy win outright against Washington here, but they have no business laying almost a touchdown in this spot. Ron Rivera has always played the Eagles fairly well, and with his job on the line I see Washington coming out rarely well-prepared on Sunday.

Let’s fade the Eagles and their overrated defense against a “hungrier dog” in the ‘Manders at home. The Eagles are getting slammed with bets this morning, and the spread has barely moved since the opening line dropped. Let’s back the streaky Commanders to have a field-day through the air against this overrated secondary. They might not win this game, but they are going to cover the spread and keep this one close.
