Baltimore Ravens Lamar Jackson

Thursday Night Football Prediction: Can the Bengals Contain Lamar Jackson, Ravens on TNF?

The Ravens lost a very tough divisional game last week against the Browns in a game where they blew a two touchdown fourth quarter lead. Can they bounce back tonight at home against a Bengals squad coming off a loss to Houston? Let's break it down.

Thursday Night Football Prediction: Can the Bengals Contain Lamar Jackson, Ravens on TNF?

The Baltimore Ravens have been one of the more dominant teams in the NFL this season as they have only trailed for about 25 minutes of game time on the season to this point, which is remarkable when you consider the parity across the league.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens Prediction

The Ravens are led by all pro QB, Lamar Jackson, and a vaunted rushing attack. Keaton Mitchell has stepped into the Ravens backfield after numerous injuries and has been very productive for Baltimore in limited action to this point. Mitchell is averaging 14.3 yards per carry in limited action across his last few games and has added some explosiveness to this Ravens offense.

The Ravens bread and butter over the past few seasons has been on the ground and it has been a rushing attack by committee which does not bode well for Cincinnati who has had some issues with defending the run this season. Yes, CJ Stroud lit them up last week but I feel like a lot of people are failing to mention how well the Texans ran the ball against this Bengals front seven. The Texans totaled 188 rushing yards on 5.5 yards per attempt with backup running back, Devin Singletary and this was not the first time that the Bengals have gotten gashed on the ground.

In a road loss against the Titans, Tennessee ran for 173 yards on 5.2 yards per carry. In a road loss against the Browns, Cleveland ran for 206 yards on 5.2 yards per carry. In another loss to Baltimore earlier in the season, the Ravens were able to run for 178 yards on 4.8 yards per rush. Seeing a pattern? The Bengals wins have come against teams with below average rushing attacks such as the Rams, Cardinals, and a Bills team who has been a mess on offense as of late.

I foresee the Bengals really struggling to contain Lamar Jackson and this high-powered Ravens running game which should lead to multiple sustained scoring drives for Baltimore. The Ravens have also been one of the beat home teams in the NFL to this point. Prior to their loss against the Browns last week, the Ravens had been 3-1 at home with wins of 37-3 over Seattle, 38-6 over Detroit, and 25-9 over Houston.

With that being said, I am rolling with Ravens ML at -175 for 1U as my most confident NFL play of the day for tonight's action as I do not mind laying a bit of juice on the Ravens here in what could be a close game down to the wire. I am also going to roll with Lamar Jackson Over 45.5 rushing yards at -115 for 1U as I think he will have a big game on the ground tonight through designed runs as well as scrambles.
