5 minArizona Cardinals vs. Houston Texans Prediction: Can Trey McBride Produce?
The 5-4 Houston Texans host the 2-8 Arizona Cardinals, who are coming off their second win of the season against the Falcons in the first game with Kyler Murray back. While the Cardinals got Murray back, tight end Zach Ertz is on the IR, opening an opportunity for Trey McBride to shine.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Houston Texans Prediction
Zach Ertz got injured against the Seahawks in Week 7 and landed on the IR. Trey McBride stepped in as the starter, even though he had already gotten good reps with Ertz healthy as a second-year tight end out of Colorado State. In the three games since, McBride has had huge games in two of them.
In the first game without Ertz, Trey had ten receptions for 95 yards against the Ravens. In the second game, he had a dud, going for 22 yards on three catches, but the Cardinals had no offense in that game, scoring zero points against the Browns with Clayton Tune under center. Last week, once the Cardinals got Kyler Murray back, Trey was his biggest weapon, leading all players in that game with eight receptions and 131 yards.
Trey McBride is now third on the Cardinals with 435 receiving yards, even after playing "backup" behind Ertz for seven of his ten games this season. He is averaging 41.8 yards per game this season, but his snap share was in the 30s and 40s with Ertz healthy. He played 80% of snaps last week, and he is clearly the number one tight end for them now, and his connection with Murray looks the best out of any receiver.
The Texans have also been gouged by tight ends this season. Only the Lions have given up more yards through the air to tight ends with 131, but the Texans are 31st, allowing 80.7 yards per game to tight ends. With McBride taking over a big role in this offense, I expect Murray to look his way often as he gets back into the swing of things after missing so much time with his injury. 56 yards seems very doable in this scenario.
