Tony Pollard was expected to have a career year in his first season as the Dallas Cowboys lead running back but that simply hasn’t happened. He is averaging just 3.9 yards per carry, has failed to rush for more than 60 yards in six consecutive games, and has only reached the end zone twice. With that being said, I’m still a believer in Pollard’s talent and he has a great opportunity this week to shine as the primary back.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Carolina Panthers Prediction
The Carolina Panthers are allowing the sixth most rushing yards per game (131.9) and rank 31st in rushing defense DVOA. Carolina has been gashed on the ground all season long and I’m not expecting any different when the Cowboys come to town.
The books currently have the Cowboys as 10.5 point favorites so we can expect a positive game script for Pollard and the ground game.
One of Pollard’s best attributes is his explosiveness and although he hasn’t been ripping off the huge gains we’re accustomed to seeing from him, he’s cleared his longest rush prop in six of nine starts this season and back to back weeks. Look for Pollard to rip off a vintage long run against one of the worst run defenses in all of football.
