We don't have any hockey today (I know it is thanksgiving week but I genuinely would consider it criminal activity to not have hockey on Tuesday OR Thursday this week) so I want to dive into the NFL slate this week early. Thanksgiving is a wonderful Holiday full of friends, family, food, and love and I am excited to celebrate. It is also full of football, and we have three games I am licking my chops over.
Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions Prediction
While I may stil be upset with Jared Goff for the things he did to my mental health for three straight hours on Sunday, the Lions already had a big scare this week already and will not mess around here. The fourth quarter comeback over the Bears was a huge step forward for the 8-2 Lions, and with home field advantage here I just do not see the Packers having a shot. The Lions have been spectacular in the first half at home this season, and should jump out to an early lead. Jordan Love is not a quarterback who does well playing from behind, and once he has to start forcing the issue and pressing, I think things snowball for the Packers and Detroit takes care of business.
Washington Commanders vs. Dallas Cowboys Prediction
While I do expect this game to be competitive and no part of me wants to overlook Washington, this is a big game for Dallas. They are 7-3 in a prime spot to keep rolling forward but have already suffered a loss this season they had no business having, and losing at home in prime time would hurt. Washington will battle but coming off back-to-back losses and having traded big pieces of the defense a few weeks ago, this team is obviously not chasing any rings this year. They play physical and well enough to keep this game from turning into a blowout, but Dallas has revenge on their minds.
