The Patriots have struggled mightily this season. They’ve scored seven or less points in each of their last three games. What if I told you that I was targeting a Patriots offensive prop for Thursday night.
Bailey Zappe will make his second start of the season tonight. On paper, his matchup looks horrific, but if you dig into the numbers, you’ll see that this Steelers defense hasn’t been nearly as good as advertised.
The Steelers are bottom-half in the NFL in opponent passing yards per game, and bottom-ten in opponent rushing yards per game. The Steelers have been blessed of late, facing plenty of backup quarterbacks and subpar offenses. They’ll get to face another one tonight, but the Patriots have had the Steelers’ number over the years…
Bailey Zappe has yet to throw a touchdown this year. This will be only his second start of the season, to be fair. You’re telling me that Zappe is (-120) to throw a touchdown pass tonight when he wasn’t able to do it against the Chargers last week, or against the Giants in the second half of the game before that? Something seems off…
I’m willing to bet Bailey Zappe throws his first touchdown of the season against this overrated Steelers secondary tonight. Oddsmakers are “tipping their hand” with the (-120) juice to the over on his o0.5 passing touchdowns. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you can never count out Coach Belicheck. He has Coach Tomlin’s number over the years; don’t be surprised if this Patriots offense looks the best it has in months tonight. Bet on Zappe to throw his first passing touchdown of the season tonight, and I’ll catch you at the cash counter.
