I’ve never understood why everyone has been complaining about these primetime games so much. Maybe my stardards are too low, but I’m always down to watch and bet on an NFL game, no matter who’s playing. This is the NFL, the “cream of the crop” of all sports to bet on. Tonight’s matchup might include numerous backups, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t money to be made…

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Las Vegas Raiders Prediction
Both the Raiders and the Chargers will be without their starting quarterbacks tonight. Justin Herbert is out for the season, and the Raiders are sticking with Aidan O’Connell down the stretch. The total has plummeted from the 47.5 opener weeks ago, but the public doesn’t care. They are still peppering the under with bets.
The total settled around 34.5 on most books, and hasn’t really budged in the last 24 hours, even with the public slamming the under. More than 66% of the bets and handle are currently backing the under (per VSIN), and you don’t see public unders every day. Everyone is doubting Easton Stick and Aidan O’Connell, but these defenses are just as bad. Don’t be fooled by the Raiders recent shutout against Minnesota, that one was on Josh Hobbs.
Bet the over to cash in this nasty battle of the backups. Both of these young QBs are still trying to prove to the league they are deserving of a roster spot, and the Raiders prevent-style defense will leave plenty of opportunities for Easton Stick to make big-time throws. The Chargers offensive line is good enough to hold off Maxx Crosby and the Raiders defensive line (for the most part), too.
This Chargers defense has some big names and expensive players, but they have yet to live up to their expectations. Although they hoven’t allowed more than 24 points per game in over a month, the Broncos, Patriots and Packers offenses weren’t expected to break the scoreboard. I’m not saying Aidan O’Connell is going to lead this offense to more than 24 points tonight, but with how low the total has dropped, they don’t even need to score 20 points tonight for this over to cash.
Aidan O’Connell is running out of time to prove to his organization that he deserves to be under center. After getting shutout last week, O’Connell won’t be the only player on this offense looking to “prove his worth” on Thursday night. I love betting an over after a team gets shut out, because no matter how good or bad the team’s roster may be, you are going to get their maximum effort as they look to bounce back. O’Connell has a chance tonight to make up for his 4:7 touchdowns to interceptions ratio this season against the 29th-ranked defense in the league (per FOX Sports). Let’s just hope this hot streak of primetime overs continues (6-1 in the last seven games).
