The Washington Commanders are set to take on the New York Jets in the slate's most underwhelming game.
But there's still value in this game. Maybe it'll be a tight one, after all. However, the Commanders and Jets are both out of the playoffs and fighting for a top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Aaron Rodgers already stated that he won't be coming back. Meanwhile, Zach Wilson is concussed. Therefore, New York will likely have to ride out this game with Trevor Siemian.
Still, New York is favored at home against the Commanders. That proves how bad the Commanders have been this year.
Washington has just four wins on the season and benched Sam Howell during the game last week against the Rams.
Jacoby Brissett helped the Commanders get close but couldn't finish the job.
Washington hasn't announced its quarterback for this game yet.

The Jets and Commanders could use backup quarterbacks for this game.
Washington's Sam Howell has claimed that the Commanders haven't spoken about who will start at quarterback this week against the Jets. However, Jacoby Brissett took over for a struggling Howell and led the Commanders to multiple touchdowns on an 80% completion rate.
Brissett outplayed Howell when he got into the game. Howell had thrown 11 completions on 26 attempts, averaging just 3.9 yards per play.
On the other hand, Zach Wilson has been diagnosed with a concussion. He had been diagnosed with a head injury first but now has a concussion. It's very likely that he won't play in Sunday's game against the Commanders. Therefore, New York will give Trevor Siemian the ball at quarterback.
While Brissett might be the better option for Washington, it probably won't matter with how poorly the Commanders have played this season on defense.
The Commanders can make any offense look elite. They've allowed over 30 points per game this season and have a differential of -10.14 between the offensive and defensive numbers.
The Commanders don't compare to the Jets on defense. New York's defense has allowed only 20.5 points per game and has held teams to just 170.43 yards in the air and 127.93 yards on the ground.
I don't think it matters who the Jets have at quarterback. They should be able to score points with good playcalling and scheming. Siemian has been with the team for a solid portion in the second half and should have at least more chemistry and cohesion with the team if he gets the start.
On the other hand, it's unclear if Brian Robinson Jr. will give it a go for the Commanders. He's led the team in rushing this season but didn't play last week due to a hamstring injury. Chris Rodriguez Jr. stole more reps than Antonio Gibson, proving that Rodriguez would be the workhorse if Robinson couldn't go.
However, Rodriguez only averaged 3.5 yards per rush on ten attempts last week. Washington was down early and chose to throw the ball a lot in the second half. Therefore, the Commanders only added 21 carries and failed to earn at least four yards per carry in that game.
It's unlikely Washington will score many points. Meanwhile, while the Jets should have some success, relying on New York to help push the game Over the total is hard.
