The San Francisco 49ers were the best team in the NFC this season with a 12-5 record.
The 49ers earned a first-round bye and drew a matchup with the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the playoffs.
San Francisco trailed the Packers in the fourth quarter but put together a game-winning touchdown drive capped off by a Christian McCaffery run.
The NFC Championship game was no easier for the 49ers, who trailed the Lions by 17 points at the half.
San Fransisco came out and was a completely different team in the second half.
The 49ers played lights out on both sides of the ball and pulled off the 34-31 victory.
This will be the 49ers' first appearance in the Super Bowl since 2020 when the Chiefs beat them.
Quarterback Brock Purdy will attempt to become the first Mr. Irrelevant to lead a team to a Super Bowl.
Purdy has struggled in both playoff games in the first half but has clutched up in both games, leading his team to key winning drives.
San Francisco has the best skill position players in football, headlined by running back Christian McCaffrey. CMC has already racked up four touchdowns in two playoff games.
