After a crazy Sunday slate, Monday Night Football is back to end Week 5 with an exciting matchup between the up-and-coming Saints against the perennial champion Chiefs. It's time to target some top picks and props for MNF, and the stars will be out at Arrowhead tonight.
Patrick Mahomes leads the Chiefs into battle as an undefeated squad tonight, but the team looks much different than it did a month ago. Rashee Rice and Isiah Pacheco are lost for the foreseeable future, so they'll have to make do with Travis Kelce and a few surrounding pieces.
Meanwhile, the Saints came to life in the first few weeks of the season, dropping over 90 points in two games under new offensive coordinator Klink Kubiak. Derek Carr has revived his career, and Alvin Kamara is dominating despite being an aging RB. Can the Saints upset the defending Super Bowl champs in their own building tonight?

MNF Same-Game Parlay - Saints vs. Chiefs
Leg 1: New Orleans Saints +8.5 Alt Line
Let's start this off with our game pick. The New Orleans Saints are heading on the road to Kansas City in what figures to be a close showdown. Both teams have played in an abundance of one-score games in 2024. The Saints lost their last two games by a combined five points, including a last-second field goal against the Falcons last week. The Chiefs haven't beaten anyone by more than a touchdown, despite being 4-0. Three of their four wins came down to the final play of the game. I don't see the Chiefs and their banged-up offense blowing the Saints away in any scenario tonight, unless Derek Carr gives the game away with turnovers. He's looked much better this season, and even if things go wrong, the Saints should cover the original number if not win outright. KC is prone to slow starts, and New Orleans has been getting after it early every week, so they should be able to build an early lead. The run of Chiefs' late-game miracles will run out sooner rather than later, especially with the newer injuries. Look for the Saints to surprise many on MNF.
Leg 2: Alvin Kamara Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Alvin Kamara has been an absolute workhorse for the Saints this year. Many thought he would start to slow down in 2024 after having a below-average season a year ago, but he is delivering impressive numbers with over 500 total yards and six touchdowns in just four games. He is a threat in the rushing and passing games, and can score from range or in the red zone. Kamara's speed, vision, and agility will make him a threat throughout the game tonight, and he is likely to continue his touchdown streak on Monday Night Football as the Chiefs won't be able to contain him in the receiving game, even if they can slow down the rushing attack.
Leg 3: Game Total Under 50.5 Alt Line
This total is sitting at 43, and really hasn't budged much despite bettors hammering the over. The public saw the Saints put up over 90 points in the first week, and think that this will become a shootout. But the reality is, we are seeing two of the top defenses in the NFL square off against two offenses that are banged-up in critical areas. The Chiefs are without Rashee Rice and Isiah Pacheco, while the Saints are missing offensive linemen. Despite 73% of bets on the over, the number isn't moving, and there is 41% of the overall money on the under. If anything, it has ticked down a hare from 43.5. Expect a back and forth game with a lot of field goals tonight instead of explosive touchdowns. We have the sixth and seventh-best rushing defenses holding opponents to under 100 ypg on the ground, and they will be forced to throw on third and longs tonight, leading to mistakes and punts. We're grabbing the alt line at 50.5 for extra insurance in case of a pick-six or a garbage time touchdown, but this game should stay low.
Leg 4: Kareem Hunt Over 8.5 1Q Rushing Yards
This leg is going to set the tone for the same-game parlay very early. It could be over very quickly, and we are getting a great number here as the sportsbooks are nervous about how the Chiefs will use Kareem Hunt. He just rejoined the team for the first time since 2018 last week, and they didn't use him at all in the first quarter. His first carry came on the first play of the second quarter, and he bruised his way for nine yards immediately, going straight over this hypothetical number. The Chiefs had previously used Carson Steele in the first to no avail, and they won't be trying that again. Hunt ran for 68 yards on 14 carries, and proved he was more than serviceable behind this offensive line as they deal with the loss of Pacheco.
This leg won't be available on every sportsbook, so we recommend using FanDuel or a similar larger book that offers first quarter props. DraftKings also has this, but 10+ first quarter yards is juiced to -145, so we are getting way better odds at FD with over 8.5 at -112. If you don't have this, I would not replace with the full game rushing total for him at 44.5. If the Chiefs are trailing like we expect them to be in this game script, their won't be a ton of rushing opportunities for Hunt, especially against a top-6 rushing defense in the Saints. The advisory here is first quarter quick hit, or nothing.
