DraftKings Pick6 Picks for Vikings vs. Rams
Leg 1: Matthew Stafford Over 22.5 Passing Completions
Matthew Stafford is thrilled to have his top two targets back. He's been stuck with Tutu Atwell and Demarcus Robinson over the last month, and it hasn't gone great for the Rams offense. With Kupp and Nacua back, he can actually spread the ball around and get his chemistry back. Stafford's best success has come in the short passing game with these guys, so we will go with completions instead of yards tonight. He will move the ball methodically down the field with Kupp, who will appear just below this as the next leg. Expect the completions to pile up in the first half and leave little work left for the second as they build a lead and upset the Vikings.
Leg 2: Cooper Kupp Over 6.5 Receptions
One of the best possession receivers in the NFL is finally back in the lineup. Kupp and Stafford have incredible chemistry, he caught 14 balls in the season opener against the Lions! Stafford finds him early and often with check downs, mid-range out routes, and gimme throws at the first down line. While Puka Nacua also getting back into the lineup could throw a wrench in this, he's only listed at 27.5 receiving yards and is reportedly playing limited snaps. Kupp will be the obvious main option, and the attention draw to Nacua when on the field will actually only help Kupp to gain more open receptions.
Leg 3: Jordan Addison Over 44.5 Receiving Yards
Jordan Addison is tonight's sharp play, and was picked out earlier this week by our oddschecker+ Positive EV Tool. Our AI projections have Addison up at 54.5 yards, and we was listed down at 39.5 coming into this morning. Addison has been inconsistent this year as he tries to recover from a nagging ankle injury. He doesn't have more than three catches in any game, but has gone over this line in two of his four appearances. Last week, he hauled in a 51-yard deep ball against the Lions. He is fully capable of going off in any spot, and looks more polished with each passing week. In a potential shootout tonight where the Vikings are playing from behind on the road, Darnold will look for him to spark the offense while Justin Jefferson is heavily covered. Addison could fly over this total in a play or two.
Leg 4: Aaron Jones Over 24.5 Receiving Yards
Aaron Jones has been a dynamic playmaker for this Vikings offense in his first season since switching over from the Packers. Jones has been a threat out of the backfield in addition to the rushing attack, and in our projected game script tonight, they may need him more as a receiver. We are expecting Matthew Stafford to link up with Cooper Kupp early and build a lead for the Rams in the first half. This will cause Addison and Jones to get action in the receiving game in the second half as the Vikings try to battle back. We have a relatively high total at 48 tonight, and there should be some strong offensive movement by both sides. Jones will get a couple swing passes and will have the chance to make first down yardage and go over this number.
