I am going to be looking at the Denver Broncos vs Indianapolis Colts matchup in Denver, and I will be looking to target Colts Wide Receiver Alec Pierce in a unique way.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Denver Broncos Prediction
Alec Pierce has been catching deep balls all season. In the last four weeks, we have seen him put up long receptions of 32, 39, 39, and 13 yards. With Michael Pittman Jr. likely to see a lot of Pat Surtain in this game and the Denver run defense being elite, I think the Colts will need to take some deep shots and in that case, it would be great for a guy like Alec Pierce. Pierce has an absurd 21.1 average depth of target vs. man coverage this season, which is what Denver runs higher than league average (5th most). His PFF receiving grade is great vs. Man coverage at 76.8. Most of his targets are over 20 yards down the field and aren't always converted into catches at a high rate, so that is part of why I am sprinkling my units and taking his alternate lines vs. the main line of 16.5.
Another thing to note is that Denver has really been struggling against the deep ball as of late. Denver currently ranks 30th in defensive success rate in man coverage and 6th highest in first-down-plus-touchdown rate while in man coverage (46.7% per PFF). Per Derek Brown from FantasyPros, "Denver has allowed the 6th most deep passing yards per game, the highest passer rating on deep passing, and the 2nd highest CPOE to deep passing since Week 9." Their secondary has really struggled to limit the deep ball the past few weeks and if that continues, Pierce should have a few chances to cash out the full ladder for us here. We just saw what the Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore did to this secondary in primetime a few weeks ago, let's hope Alec Pierce and the Colts can replicate that!
