Bengals vs. Broncos Prediction: Backing Jake Browning, Bengals to Put up a Fight on MNF

The Monday night doubleheader concludes in Denver as the Broncos host the Cincinnati Bengals on ABC. Jake Browning takes the reins for Cincinnati once again, looking to rebound after last week’s disastrous showing against Minnesota where the Bengals were blown out by nearly 40 points. With Joe Burrow sidelined for several months, Browning’s ability to settle in and find Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins will be crucial if the Bengals hope to hang around in this one.

On the other side, the Broncos have dropped two straight and enter at 1-2, still searching for consistency under young quarterback Bo Nix. While Denver has shown flashes, the offense has yet to put together a complete performance and hasn’t been all that explosive through the first month of the season. That leaves the door cracked for a scrappy Bengals team to make this more competitive than expected.

Oddsmakers still have Denver as 7.5-point home favorites, leaning on their defensive edge and the advantage of playing at altitude. But if Browning can avoid mistakes and keep the passing game steady, the Bengals have a chance to cover and keep the pressure on a Broncos team that has not yet proven it can pull away from opponents.

The question for tonight’s Week 4 finale is simple: will Denver finally deliver a statement win, or can Cincinnati defy the odds and grind out a cover on the road?

Bengals vs. Broncos Prediction

Denver has been solid, but this offense has lacked consistency through the first few weeks. They’ve had trouble sustaining drives, especially when their run game stalls. Cincinnati’s defensive front is still a strength, and if they can generate pressure and force Denver into third-and-longs, the Broncos could struggle to finish drives.

Offensively, the Bengals don’t need to light up the scoreboard to cover this number. They still have big-play potential with their speed at receiver, and Denver’s secondary has given up explosive plays at times this season. One or two chunk gains can flip the game script and keep Cincinnati within striking distance all night. Jake Browning has struggled in his first couple of games, but I expect a much better performance tonight with more preparation.

The Broncos want to control the clock with a balanced attack, but that plays right into our hands at +8. Fewer possessions mean fewer chances for the game to get out of control. As long as Cincinnati avoids turnovers and keeps the chains moving, they can stay inside this number.

Defensively, the Bengals have the pass rush to make things uncomfortable for Denver’s quarterback. If they can force quick throws and limit yards after the catch, this game sets up to be lower scoring and tighter than the spread suggests.

Getting over a touchdown gives us plenty of cushion in a matchup where the Broncos don’t have the offensive firepower to run away. No one wants to bet the Bengals after the splattering against the Vikings last week, but I expect a much better focus from them this week.

Cincinnati doesn’t have to win outright—they just have to make Denver earn everything offensively. With the pass rush, big-play threats, and a game script that should favor a slower pace, +8 is too many points.
