FanDuel Same Game Parlay: Can David Montgomery, Xavier Worthy Shine on Sunday Night Football

Sunday Night Football sets the stage for a same game parlay built around two playmakers as the Detroit Lions visit the Kansas City Chiefs. Detroit has been rolling behind its powerful run game, led by David Montgomery, who continues to serve as the Lions’ workhorse back. With plenty of touches over recent weeks, Montgomery remains the focal point of an offense averaging more than 33 points per game during a four-game winning streak.

On the other side, Kansas City will look to rebound from a Monday night loss to the Jaguars and get Patrick Mahomes’ favorite new target back in rhythm. Rookie receiver Xavier Worthy is finding his groove after missing the first few weeks with injury, and his speed gives the Chiefs a much-needed spark downfield. As the defending champs try to reassert themselves at home, look for Worthy to play a key role in stretching the field.

With the Lions’ ground game firing and the Chiefs eager to push the tempo through the air, this primetime clash is the perfect setup for a parlay built around Montgomery’s volume and Worthy’s big-play potential. Let's target these stars in this FanDuel same game parlay for Sunday Night Football in Lions vs. Chiefs.

Lions vs. Chiefs Same Game Parlay

Leg 1: Chiefs ML

Kansas City enters Sunday night locked in after a tough road loss to Jacksonville. Expect the defending champs to respond with a sharp defensive effort, focusing on shutting down Detroit’s powerful run game and neutralizing Amon-Ra St. Brown. Cornerback Trent McDuffie should handle most of the coverage duties there, while the front seven stacks the box to limit David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. With over 75% of bets coming in on Detroit but just 59% of the money following, sharp bettors appear to be siding with the Chiefs. We’ll take Kansas City on the moneyline for a safer play in what should be a competitive primetime matchup.

Leg 2: Xavier Worthy Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Second-year wideout Xavier Worthy is quickly becoming a key weapon for Patrick Mahomes. After returning from injury, he’s logged 5 or more receptions in both of his games, showing the confidence and chemistry building with his quarterback. The Lions have struggled against deep threats all season, and Worthy’s speed gives Kansas City the perfect outlet to stretch the field. Expect Mahomes to look his way early and often, and for Worthy to find the end zone for his first touchdown of the year before Rashee Rice returns next week.

Leg 3: David Montgomery Over 1.5 Receptions

David Montgomery has only topped this number once this season, but that came in Detroit’s lone loss. If the Chiefs control the game script as expected, the Lions will need to rely more on short passes and checkdowns to keep drives alive. Montgomery should benefit as a reliable safety valve for Jared Goff, especially when Kansas City’s pass rush starts to collapse the pocket. A few dump-offs late in the second half should be enough to get him over this modest receptions total.

Leg 4: Brashard Smith Over 1.5 Receptions

With the Chiefs still managing injuries at wide receiver, rookie Brashard Smith has emerged as a versatile option in the passing game. His hybrid role allows him to line up in multiple spots and create mismatches against linebackers and safeties. Smith has recorded at least three catches in each of his last two games, and his usage continues to rise as KC expands his responsibilities. Look for Mahomes to keep involving him on short routes and screens to move the chains against a fast Lions defense.
