Raiders vs. Broncos Prediction: Can Brock Bowers, Raiders Keep it Close with Broncos in AFC West Clash on TNF?

The Raiders recently got Brock Bowers back, and he has quickly gotten the Raiders offense back on track. Can Bowers and the Raiders keep it close in an AFC West divisional battle on Thursday Night Football? Let's take a look at this Raiders vs. Broncos prediction from McBets on TNF.

Raiders vs. Broncos Prediction: Backing Brock Bowers, Raiders on Thursday Night Football

The Raiders travel to Denver tonight for a divisional matchup against the Broncos, and I’m backing Las Vegas in what sets up as an inflated line and a classic “hold-your-nose” underdog spot. Denver is coming off a physical Sunday win, has a short week of prep, and is now being asked to cover double digits against a Raiders team with low public perception — but also one that matches up better defensively than the market is giving credit for.

The Broncos are the better team, but this number is too big for the offensive style they play and the game script this matchup likely creates.

Raiders vs. Broncos Prediction

Denver has covered one game this season when favored by more than a touchdown. Bo Nix has been fine in structure, but look deeper:

The Broncos win, but they don’t separate. They play slow, run-heavy, and conservative once they have a lead. That’s not a profile that covers -10 spreads — it’s a profile that lets backdoors stay wide open.

  • Las Vegas has quietly retooled the backend of its defense: Jeremy Chinn now in the Jamal Adams “star” role
  • Elandon Roberts is getting run-stuffing snaps
  • Pola-Mao playing closer to the LOS for disguised pressure looks

This is a defense built to force short throws — and that’s exactly how Bo Nix already plays. He throws short of the sticks on 3rd down at one of the highest rates in the league, and ranks 27th in EPA on deep throws (20+ yards).

The Broncos need explosives to cover -10. Raiders defense is designed to force the opposite.

Denver played an overtime slugfest on Sunday, Raiders played earlier in the day with a slightly lower snap volume. Altitude + short rest = tired defense late. If this game is: 20-13, 23-16, 24-17, the Broncos win, but do not cover. Exactly the type of script that cashes ugly dogs like this.

Everyone is selling the Raiders after the Jakobi Meyers trade and the offensive struggles.

  • But this line assumes: Denver offense is explosive (it’s not)
  • Raiders defense is bottom 5 (they’re not)
  • Bo Nix will push the ball to extend a lead (unlikely)

And here’s the trend the books don’t want you to see: Double-digit divisional underdogs are 61% ATS over the last 15 years. This is exactly that spot.

This is not a bet on Geno Smith — this is a bet against the idea that Denver will score 28+. Even without Meyers, the Raiders still have: Brock Bowers (primary safety valve with TE-heavy personnel), Michael Mayer (red zone size mismatch), and Tre Tucker as the schemed-touch speed option.

They only need 17–20 points to cover +10. Even a bad offensive showing still lands something like: Broncos 23 - Raiders 16. And that cashes.

Raiders vs. Broncos Pick

This is gross. It’s uncomfortable. It’s exactly the type of play that wins long-term.
