5 Minute ReadEagles vs. Packers Prediction: Backing Jordan Love, Green Bay to Respond on Monday Night Football
The Eagles travel to Lambeau Field tonight to face a Green Bay team eager to prove that last week’s loss was nothing more than a fluke. With playoff seeding on the line and the weather set to turn chilly, I’m backing the Packers at home in what feels like a perfect buy-low, sell-high spot.
Green Bay might’ve stumbled against Carolina last week, but that loss was deceiving — the Packers didn’t punt a single time. They moved the ball all game, but conservative play-calling and red zone inefficiency cost them. Under Matt LaFleur, this team has made a habit of rebounding strong: he’s 11-4 ATS after a loss at home, including 9-3 against teams with a .700 or better record. When the lights get bright, Green Bay typically delivers.

Eagles vs. Packers Prediction
The Eagles, meanwhile, have looked better in the standings than on film. They’ve been skating by on breaks all year — surviving a Travis Kelce dropped touchdown in Kansas City, a pair of blocked field goals against the Rams, and multiple red-zone blunders by Minnesota. Flip a few of those plays and Philly could easily be 4-4 instead of 6-2. This is a good team, but not the elite machine they’ve been priced as.
Offensively, Philadelphia remains inconsistent. The blowout over the Giants came against one of the worst defenses in football, especially against the run. And while new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo might have steadied things during the bye, we haven’t seen this offense function for four full quarters against a real defense. That test comes tonight — in freezing conditions, on grass, against a defense that thrives at home.
Green Bay’s defense matches up extremely well with Jalen Hurts and this scheme. The Packers play zone on over 80% of snaps, and Hurts has just a 39% success rate versus zone — a massive drop from his efficiency against man. The Packers can generate pressure without blitzing, which is key against a quarterback who thrives on broken plays and scrambles. Hurts’ offensive line, especially the interior, has regressed since last season, and they’ll again be without Cam Jurgens up front.
Jordan Love, on the other hand, has quietly been elite against both man and zone coverages — one of the few quarterbacks this season who’s truly matchup-proof. Even with Tucker Kraft sidelined, the Packers’ passing game is built to exploit Philly’s back-end weaknesses. The Eagles are banged up in the secondary and rank bottom-10 in explosive plays allowed. Love should be able to connect with his receivers for big chunk gains down the middle of the field — the same area where Philadelphia ranks 31st in EPA per play allowed.
The situational angle is just as strong. The Eagles come in off a bye and a run of good fortune, while Green Bay is desperate to make a statement in front of their home crowd. The Packers can’t afford another slip-up in the tight NFC North race — and LaFleur has shown time and again that his team responds when its back is against the wall.
With a defense that can pressure without overcommitting, an offense that moves the ball efficiently, and one of the strongest home-field advantages in football, this is the perfect spot to fade the public narrative and trust the better-prepared team.
