5 Minute ReadMonday Night Football Prediction: Backing Dak Prescott, Cowboys Offense to Surge Against Raiders
We head to Sin City tonight as the 2–7 Raiders travel to Dallas, with both teams coming off extended rest and looking to stop multi-game losing streaks. But this matchup isn’t two equals trying to get back on track — not even close. One team has problems that can be fixed, the other has problems that are structural. And that’s exactly why this is a “buy low” spot on the Cowboys.
Las Vegas entered the year with extremely low expectations on defense, but oddly enough, that side of the ball has been the pleasant surprise. The Raiders’ defense is slightly above average in DVOA and has quietly held up despite lacking true top-end talent outside of Maxx Crosby.

Cowboys vs. Raiders Prediction
The Raiders offense? A complete disaster.
Las Vegas ranks 30th in DVOA, 30th in EPA per play, and 30th in success rate — only the Browns and Titans have been worse. Almost everything that can break offensively has broken. The offensive line can’t block, the run game has no efficiency, and Geno Smith continues to be one of the most pressured quarterbacks in football. When the Raiders did have Kolton Miller and Jackson Powers-Johnson, the line was already bottom-tier. Now they’re without both.
And even healthy indoor conditions haven’t saved Geno in 2025. Smith has regressed dramatically and sits near the bottom of the league under pressure — and tonight he sees a Cowboys defensive front that just added Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson and is capable of generating top-10 pressure without blitzing.
That is a brutal equation for a Raiders offense that already can’t run the ball, can’t protect, and now must operate behind a patched-together OL on the road.
But what actually makes the Cowboys the right side is this: Dallas hasn’t had the offensive issues Las Vegas has.
Klayton Adams’ system is humming — 11th in DVOA, 5th in EPA per play, 8th in success rate — and Dak continues to play at a borderline elite level when kept clean. The Raiders scheme is designed to bend-not-break and limit explosives, but that means long, methodical drives… and that is exactly what this Dallas offense can do at home.
Dallas has weapons everywhere, and Dak should have a clean pocket most of the night. This Raiders defense fights but still has holes at every level. They want to slow games down, keep things in front of them, and make opponents go 10–12 plays — but all that does is favor a Cowboys team that excels in sustained, mistake-free drives.
The Raiders offense will struggle. The Cowboys offense won’t.
Dallas also comes in rested, healthier on defense, and historically performs well at home off a bye week. Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson give this front seven badly needed stability, especially against an RB in Ashton Jeanty who has averaged under 4 YPC in five straight games. If the Cowboys stop the run — and the metrics say they will — Geno is going to be in predictable passing downs all night long, and that’s exactly where Dallas’ pressure wins games.
For a Raiders offense ranked bottom-three in nearly every major efficiency metric, sustained scoring drives indoors against a rested pass rush is hard to imagine.
At the end of the day, this isn’t a complicated matchup. One team has an elite quarterback, elite weapons, and a top-10 offense with upgraded defensive talent. The other is rolling out one of the league’s worst lines, worst rushing offenses, and a QB who craters under pressure.
