The Hamilton Tiger-Cats travel to face the Montreal Alouettes on Sunday, July 26, at 7:00 PM ET from Percival Molson Memorial Stadium. The game will air on CBS Sports Network in the United States. Montreal enters as a 9.5-point favorite with the total set at 57.5.
Montreal has established itself as the team to beat in the East Division, opening the season 5-1 while already defeating Hamilton in the first meeting between these clubs. The Alouettes escaped Hamilton with a 30-27 victory in Week 1 and followed that by beating Calgary 38-32 last week to maintain first place.
Quarterback Davis Alexander has been outstanding, throwing for more than 300 yards in every game this season while remarkably avoiding a single interception through 336 consecutive pass attempts. He continues to lean on star receivers Tyson Philpot and Tyler Snead, with Alexander Hollins providing another explosive target.

Hamilton has battled to a respectable 3-3 record despite losing starting quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell to injury. Tre Ford impressed in his first start last week, throwing for 218 yards while adding 109 rushing yards in a dramatic 24-23 victory over Toronto. Kenny Lawler remains one of the CFL’s premier receivers and gives Hamilton a chance to create explosive plays, but asking Ford to win a road shootout against one of the league’s most complete teams is a much tougher assignment.
The Tiger-Cats have enough offensive talent to remain competitive, but Montreal has been far more consistent on both sides of the football. Alexander continues to protect the ball at an elite level, while the Alouettes’ defense has proven capable of limiting big plays and forcing opponents into long drives. Hamilton’s backup quarterback situation also becomes more difficult on the road against one of the CFL’s toughest home environments.
Montreal already showed it can beat Hamilton away from home, and the matchup now shifts back to Percival Molson Memorial Stadium with the Alouettes playing even better football than they were in Week 1. Unless Ford produces another spectacular rushing performance, Montreal should gradually wear down the Tiger-Cats and create enough separation during the second half to cover the number.
