4 Minute ReadLions vs. Blue Bombers Prediction: Can Blue Bombers Bounce Back Against Weak Lions Offense?
The Lions visit the Blue Bombers on Thursday night in a Week 9 matchup streaming on CFL+. Winnipeg is a 7.5-point home favorite at -115 and -410 on the moneyline, while BC is +7.5 at -105 and +320 to win outright. The total is set at 52.5 points. Winnipeg enters at 4-3, while BC sits at 1-5.
Winnipeg is looking for an immediate response after its three-game winning streak ended with a 52-30 home loss to Calgary. BC presents a much softer offensive assignment, but uncertainty surrounding both quarterback situations makes the total more attractive than laying more than a touchdown with the Bombers.

Lions vs. Blue Bombers Prediction
The Blue Bombers could not slow Calgary’s league-leading attack last week, allowing the Stampeders to score 52 points in a game that quickly escaped their control. That result was an outlier for a Winnipeg defense that still leads the CFL with 15 sacks and 32 pass knockdowns. Returning home against the league’s least productive offense gives the unit an opportunity to restore its identity by controlling the line of scrimmage and forcing long-yardage situations.
BC managed only 12 points in last week’s 26-12 loss to Toronto and has averaged 14.5 points across its past two games. Nathan Rourke remains unavailable, leaving 22-year-old Kaidon Salter in position to make his first CFL start after replacing Chase Brice late against the Argonauts. Salter’s mobility could create several extended plays, but facing Winnipeg’s pass rush behind a weakened offensive line is a difficult introduction to a starting role.
The Lions have also lost four consecutive meetings with Winnipeg, including a 27-14 defeat earlier this season. The past six head-to-head games have all remained below 54.5 points, with the Blue Bombers repeatedly limiting BC’s ability to sustain drives. Winnipeg should control the matchup again, but its own offense has not been consistent enough to justify automatically laying 7.5 points.
Lions vs. Blue Bombers Pick
- Pick: Under 52.5 Total Points (-105) Check out these best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook
A score such as 27-20 would allow BC to cover while still keeping the game comfortably below the total. Winnipeg should generate pressure, shorten possessions and force Salter into conservative decisions, while BC’s defense can do enough to prevent the Bombers from creating the type of offensive explosion needed to clear 52.5. The favorite is positioned to bounce back, but the under provides protection against a low-scoring game that remains closer than the moneyline suggests.
