Redblacks vs. Roughriders Prediction
Saskatchewan enters after one of its biggest victories of the season, beating Edmonton 28-26 on the road to avenge a 36-34 loss to the Elks one week earlier. The Roughriders have now scored 232 points through seven games, an average of more than 33 per contest, and their recent stretch also includes a dominant 38-7 home victory over Hamilton. Harris continues to operate an efficient passing attack with Samuel Emilus and Kian Schaffer-Baker among his primary weapons, while Saskatchewan has enough balance to prevent defenses from simply dropping numbers into coverage.
Ottawa's season reached another low last Friday with a 34-13 home loss to Montreal. That followed a devastating 36-34 overtime defeat against Winnipeg in which the Redblacks carried a 26-9 advantage into the fourth quarter before collapsing. Ottawa has now allowed 247 points through seven games, more than 35 per contest, while turnovers, stalled drives and late defensive breakdowns have continually erased stretches of encouraging football. Jake Maier has shown occasional flashes, but the offense has not been consistent enough to compensate for those problems.
The first meeting on July 3 was considerably closer, with Saskatchewan escaping Ottawa with a 27-22 victory. Harris threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns, while a Mathew Sexton punt-return touchdown provided one of the decisive plays. That five-point margin creates some caution when laying more than a touchdown in the rematch, but Saskatchewan now gets Ottawa at Mosaic Stadium after the Redblacks followed that competitive performance with four more losses. The Riders have also shown they can dominate weaker opposition at home, as demonstrated by the 31-point demolition of Hamilton.

Ottawa has lost several close games, but last week's 21-point defeat suggests the accumulated frustration may finally be taking a toll. Saskatchewan just proved it can beat an elite Edmonton team on the road and now receives a major drop in competition while returning home. Harris and the Roughriders should create enough scoring separation against a defense allowing more than 35 points per game, and Ottawa's first victory should have to wait at least another week.
