Minnesota enters as a 2.5-point road favorite, with the Vikings -2.5 (-108), New York +2.5 (-112) and the Giants +110 on the moneyline. Minnesota went 9-8 and missed the playoffs last season, while New York finished 4-13 and now begins a new era under Harbaugh.
Minnesota has already settled its biggest camp competition. Kyler Murray beat out J.J. McCarthy for the starting job, but Kevin O’Connell has confirmed both quarterbacks will play Saturday. Carson Wentz and Max Brosmer sit behind them, giving the Vikings four experienced options to evaluate.

Vikings vs. Giants Prediction
The Giants have been much less revealing. Harbaugh declined to confirm whether Jaxson Dart will play, although he has consistently suggested New York’s young roster could benefit from preseason reps. Odell Beckham Jr. is confirmed to play, giving the Giants at least one established offensive piece on the field.
That uncertainty is exactly why preseason favorites are difficult to trust. Minnesota may use Murray only briefly before turning to McCarthy and the deeper quarterback rotation, while New York has more incentive to evaluate a roster coming off a four-win season.
The Giants have also spent camp building around Dart, Darius Slayton, Beckham and a younger offensive group under a completely new staff. Even if Dart’s workload is limited, this is a home preseason opener with far more developmental urgency on the New York side.
Vikings vs. Giants Pick
- Pick: Giants Moneyline (+110) Check out these best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook
At +110, the moneyline is preferable to simply taking the points. Minnesota has the more established quarterback room, but preseason results are often decided long after the starters leave. New York’s young roster should receive enough meaningful work to turn a short home underdog price into a worthwhile upset angle.
