4 Minute ReadCowboys vs. Cardinals Prediction: Can Joe Milton Take Down Cardinals in Second Preseason Game?
Arizona is a 1.5-point home favorite at -105, with Dallas +1.5 (-115). The Cardinals are -120 on the moneyline, the Cowboys are even money and the total sits at 37.5.
Dallas finished 7-9-1 last season and missed the playoffs, while Arizona went 3-14 and ended the year on a nine-game losing streak. Both organizations have significant roster work to do, although Arizona has already played two preseason games because of its Hall of Fame Game appearance.
The Cowboys opened their exhibition schedule with an encouraging 17-7 victory at Seattle. Dak Prescott sat as expected, leaving Sam Howell and Joe Milton III to handle the game. Both produced touchdown passes to Camden Brown, giving Dallas two experienced and physically talented options competing for the backup role.

Cowboys vs. Cardinals Prediction
Milton is expected to start Saturday after Howell opened last week's game. Prescott will remain out, but the alternating rotation keeps both reserve quarterbacks highly motivated. Dallas also has important competitions at running back and throughout a young defense, so the Cowboys have plenty to evaluate despite protecting their stars.
Arizona is 1-1 in the preseason after beating Las Vegas 27-14 in its most recent game, but Mike LaFleur is beginning to reduce risk as the Cardinals reach exhibition game No. 3. Jacoby Brissett and many regular offensive and defensive starters will sit. Gardner Minshew is expected to start and handle approximately the first half with the second-team offense before Kedon Slovis takes over.
Minshew gives Arizona a legitimate veteran quarterback, but the Cardinals' situation is different from Dallas'. Arizona has already accumulated more game snaps than almost every other team and is progressively moving toward evaluating the bottom of its roster. Dallas is still in the heart of a real QB2 competition.
Cowboys vs. Cardinals Pick
- Pick: Cowboys ML (+100) Check out these best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook
At even money, the Cowboys offer the more appealing motivation profile. Howell and Milton both have realistic incentives to attack the game, and Dallas just won comfortably on the road with the same basic formula.
