New England and Seattle open the 2026 NFL season Wednesday night at Lumen Field just seven months after meeting in Super Bowl LX. Both teams finished 14-3 last season, but Seattle dominated the championship game 29-13, holding the Patriots scoreless through three quarters while sacking Drake Maye six times and forcing three turnovers.
The Patriots responded by upgrading the supporting cast around Maye. A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs headline a deeper receiving corps, while Alijah Vera-Tucker was added to an offensive line that was overwhelmed in the Super Bowl. New England also has another year of continuity between Maye, offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and veteran targets Hunter Henry and Mack Hollins.
Seattle remains dangerous defensively, but this is not exactly the same unit New England saw in February. Riq Woolen and Coby Bryant are gone from the secondary, while safety Nick Emmanwori enters Wednesday questionable with an ankle injury. Seattle is also breaking in Brian Fleury as its new offensive coordinator and replacing Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III in the backfield.
The biggest injury for New England is TreVeyon Henderson, who has been ruled out with an ankle issue after leading the Patriots with 911 rushing yards last season. That leaves Rhamondre Stevenson carrying a heavier backfield workload and could push New England toward more of the quick-game and formation-heavy passing concepts designed to keep Maye out of the obvious pressure situations that wrecked the Super Bowl.

Patriots vs. Seahawks Same Game Parlay Breakdown
Leg 1: Patriots +7.5
The alternate spread creates a much different wager than asking New England to cover the current field-goal market. Moving the Patriots all the way to +7.5 crosses several important numbers and gives New England room to lose by a touchdown while still cashing the first leg.
Seattle deservedly enters favored after dismantling New England in February, but the current market is pricing these teams much closer to a field goal apart. The Patriots have also directly addressed their biggest Super Bowl weakness by upgrading Maye’s receiving corps and protection, while Seattle enters with more uncertainty in the secondary and a new offensive coordinator.
New England does not need to reverse the Super Bowl result for this leg. A 24-20 or 27-21 Seattle win works just as well, and the additional four-plus points above the standard spread are valuable insurance in a matchup between two teams that each won 14 regular-season games last year.
Leg 2: Hunter Henry 3+ Receptions
Henry remained one of Maye’s most dependable targets throughout 2025, finishing with 60 receptions for a career-high 768 yards and seven touchdowns. He recorded at least three catches in 11 of 17 regular-season games, then reached the milestone again in the Super Bowl with three receptions on five targets for 31 yards.
There is also additional history against Mike Macdonald’s Seattle defense. Henry caught eight passes for 109 yards against the Seahawks in 2024, and even when Seattle completely controlled New England’s offense in February, he still reached exactly three receptions.
Brown and Doubs will command plenty of targets, but that can also keep defenses from dedicating too much attention to Henry underneath. Against a front that generated six sacks in the Super Bowl, Maye should again have reasons to use his veteran tight end as a quick outlet. Three catches is a low enough threshold that Henry does not need to be one of New England’s primary yardage producers.
Leg 3: Mack Hollins Over 8.5 Receiving Yards
Hollins is the most aggressive leg, but the number is extremely low. He averaged 36.7 receiving yards per game last season, finished with 550 yards on 46 catches and averaged 12.0 yards per reception. He cleared 8.5 receiving yards in 11 of his 15 regular-season appearances.
His best argument comes directly from this matchup. Hollins returned from injured reserve for the AFC Championship Game and produced 51 yards, then erupted for four receptions, 78 yards and a touchdown against Seattle in Super Bowl LX. He was New England’s leading receiver in both of his final two playoff appearances.
The arrival of Brown and Doubs does create more competition for routes, but Hollins has carved out a useful role beyond being a conventional fourth receiver. New England experimented throughout camp with Hollins in bigger personnel packages because of his blocking ability, including formations where he can release late into routes after initially presenting as a blocker. At 8.5 yards, one normal Hollins reception can be enough to finish the leg.

The appeal of this +300 parlay is that it does not require an extreme game script. New England only needs to remain within one score, while Henry needs three catches and Hollins essentially needs one solid reception.
Both receiving legs actually cleared in the Super Bowl despite Seattle producing six sacks, three takeaways and keeping New England off the scoreboard for three quarters. With a retooled Patriots offense and a +7.5 cushion rather than the current +3 range, there are considerably more paths for all three pieces to land Wednesday night.
