Chicago visits Bank of America Stadium at 1:00 PM ET on FOX as a 3-point road favorite. The total has climbed to 47.5.
Both teams started 0-2 last season before recovering to win their divisions. Chicago finished 11-6 behind a major offensive leap from Williams, while Carolina went 8-9 and reached the postseason behind an improving Young and Offensive Rookie of the Year McMillan.
Bears vs. Panthers Recent Results
Chicago went 11-6, scored 441 points and ranked sixth in total offense. Williams set a franchise record with 3,942 passing yards, while D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai became the NFL's only pair of teammates to each rush for at least 750 yards.
Carolina finished 8-9 but captured the NFC South before losing 34-31 to the Rams in the Wild Card round. McMillan immediately became the focal point of the passing game with 1,014 receiving yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie.

Bears vs. Panthers Line Movement and Betting Splits
Chicago opened around -2.5 and has been pushed to the key number of -3. The total has also climbed substantially from early numbers in the mid-40s to 47.5.
The Bears have 75% of spread bets but only 60% of the handle. Carolina has just 25% of tickets yet 40% of the money, indicating the average Panthers wager is larger than the average Bears wager.
Bears vs. Panthers Prediction
Chicago's offense deserves respect. Williams is no longer learning Johnson's system from scratch, and the Bears have multiple ways to create mismatches through Loveland, Burden, Swift and Monangai.
Carolina's defense is also much more talented than the unit Williams picked apart in 2024. Jaelan Phillips and Devin Lloyd were added to the front seven, while Jaycee Horn remains capable of taking away portions of the field on the outside.
Young is the key to the underdog case. His decision-making improved last season, and McMillan gives him a large, explosive target who can win even when coverage is relatively tight. Chicago cannot simply load up against the run and expect Carolina's passing game to disappear.
The Bears were excellent offensively in 2025, but their defense was much less dominant. Chicago repeatedly needed late offensive rallies, winning seven games in which it trailed during the final two minutes. That is impressive, but it also shows how often the Bears allowed opponents to remain within one possession.
Carolina also gets the valuable home-field key number. A three-point Bears victory produces a push, while any one-score Panthers win or loss by one or two points cashes the wager.
Chicago is the more likely outright winner, but the spread requires a different standard. Carolina has enough offensive improvement, defensive upgrades and home-field value to keep the game closer than the large ticket count on Chicago suggests.
Bears vs. Panthers Best Bet
- Pick: Panthers +3 (-110) Check out these best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook
Chicago should remain one of the NFC's better offenses, but Carolina is no longer the team the Bears beat 36-10 two years ago. Young and McMillan give the Panthers a viable passing attack, while the defensive upgrades provide more ways to disrupt Williams.
Getting the full field goal at home is the key. Chicago can win this game and still fail to cover, making Carolina +3 the stronger betting position.
