5 Minute ReadChiefs vs. Raiders Prediction: Can Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Overpower Undefeated Division Rival in Vegas?
Kansas City visits Allegiant Stadium with both teams sitting at 3-0 after impressive September starts. The Chiefs are laying five points on the current board with a total of 48, although a preferred -4.5 at -110 remains available for the best bet.
Las Vegas has already matched its win total from last season and enters with legitimate confidence after rallying from an 11-point second-half deficit in New Orleans. Kansas City provides a much more difficult test, particularly with Mahomes playing behind an offense that has become more balanced through Kenneth Walker III.
Chiefs vs. Raiders Recent Results
Kansas City Chiefs (3-0)
Kansas City improved to 3-0 with a 24-10 win at Miami. The Chiefs controlled most of the game, but the margin did not fully separate until Mahomes found Travis Kelce for a fourth-quarter touchdown.
Walker has helped give Kansas City a more dependable rushing threat, allowing the offense to avoid putting every possession on Mahomes. The Chiefs have not needed peak passing volume to win comfortably.
Las Vegas Raiders (3-0)
Las Vegas remained undefeated with a 35-27 comeback win in New Orleans. The Raiders trailed 27-16 in the second half before scoring 19 unanswered points behind Cousins and a defense that repeatedly capitalized on Saints turnovers.
Bowers returned from his knee injury and immediately became a major part of the offense, finishing with 10 catches for 116 yards. His presence changes the middle-of-the-field matchup and gives Cousins the type of high-volume option Las Vegas lacked during the first two weeks.
Chiefs vs. Raiders Head to Head

- October 19, 2025: Kansas City Chiefs 31, Las Vegas Raiders 0
- November 29, 2024: Kansas City Chiefs 19, Las Vegas Raiders 17
- October 27, 2024: Kansas City Chiefs 27, Las Vegas Raiders 20
- December 25, 2023: Las Vegas Raiders 20, Kansas City Chiefs 14
Las Vegas won the most recent meeting, but Kansas City has still taken three of the last four and has consistently handled trips to Allegiant Stadium well. The Raiders have made the rivalry more competitive recently, but they have rarely faced a Kansas City offense with this much backfield balance.

Chiefs vs. Raiders Line Movement and Betting Splits
Kansas City was available as high as -5.5 before the market moved toward Las Vegas, with the Chiefs now sitting -5 on the main board and -4.5 available elsewhere. The total has moved the opposite direction, climbing from the mid-40s toward 48 after both offenses showed more explosiveness in Week 3.
Spread tickets are nearly even, while slightly more handle has landed on Las Vegas at +4.5. That creates a useful buying opportunity on the favorite because Kansas City can still be grabbed below the current main-board number.
Chiefs vs. Raiders Team News and Injuries
Kansas City Chiefs
Starting tackle Josh Simmons is out with a back injury, the most significant concern for Kansas City against Maxx Crosby and the Raiders pass rush. Protecting Mahomes' edge becomes one of the defining matchups of the afternoon.
Mahomes, Rashee Rice and Chris Jones all practiced fully and are good to go. L'Jarius Sneed also progressed to full participation, giving Kansas City a relatively healthy roster outside the tackle spot.
Las Vegas Raiders
Starting guard Jackson Powers-Johnson is out with a groin injury, creating an important interior protection issue against Jones and Kansas City's defensive front. Aidan O'Connell is questionable for personal reasons, although Cousins remains firmly established as the starter.
Bowers returned to practice on a limited basis Friday after his knee issue but did not carry a final game designation. Ashton Jeanty also practiced fully through an ankle issue and is expected to handle his normal workload.
Chiefs vs. Raiders Prediction
Las Vegas deserves credit for reaching 3-0, but the Raiders have benefited from significant turnover swings. New Orleans outgained them in Week 3 and controlled long portions of the game before four late giveaways completely changed the result.
Kansas City is much less likely to provide those opportunities. Mahomes' ability to protect the football and diagnose pressure forces Las Vegas to consistently win downs rather than waiting for mistakes.
The loss of Simmons is the clearest path for the Raiders to disrupt Kansas City's offense. Crosby can wreck a game if the Chiefs leave the tackle matchup isolated, so additional chips, quick-game concepts and Walker's rushing threat should all be important pieces of the plan.
Kansas City's defense gets an equally appealing matchup inside. Powers-Johnson being out makes it harder for Las Vegas to handle Jones without dedicating additional help, which can create problems for Cousins when Steve Spagnuolo begins moving pressure around the front.
Bowers is the biggest threat to the Kansas City side. He gives Cousins a target who can punish linebackers and safeties when the Chiefs get aggressive. Las Vegas has enough offensive talent to remain competitive, but Kansas City has more ways to create margin over four quarters.
The FairPlay AI projection is significantly more bullish on Kansas City than the market. The Chiefs are projected -7.5 with a 74% win probability compared with a market spread around -5. Grabbing Kansas City -4.5 creates roughly three points of model value.
That is especially attractive because -4.5 stays below the less desirable numbers around six and seven. Kansas City does not need to dominate. A one-touchdown road win is enough to cover.
Chiefs vs. Raiders Best Bet
- Best Bet: Chiefs -4.5 (-110) Check out these best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook
Kansas City has the cleaner turnover profile, the stronger quarterback and a substantial FairPlay AI edge against the available number. Las Vegas is improved, but the jump from beating Miami, the Chargers and New Orleans to staying within four of an undefeated Chiefs team is meaningful.
