It was tough going for us and the players at the PGA Championship last week, but let's get back on track this week with these prop bets and picks for the 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge.
Colonial Country Club has forever been the host of this illustrious event, and with the two runners-up from last week, Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland, as well as former winner, Jordan Spieth all in the field, there is some value to be had further down the field.

Charles Schwab Challenge Predictions
We are back in Texas again this week for the 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge, and we have a pretty strong field here at Colonial, despite last week's PGA Championship.
We have already mentioned Scottie Scheffler, Viktor Hovland, and Jordan Spieth, but Collin Morikawa, Max Homa, Sungjae Im, and Tony Finau also round out a very strong field given the circumstances.
In front of them is Colonial Country Club which is a 7,209 Yard, Par 70 which will demand a red-hot approach game, and also challenge your Bentgrass Green putting. This is not considered a birdie-fest, but you will have to get into the double-digits under par to succeed here, with the winning score ranging from -9 to -15 over the past years, and getting as low as -21 in 2010 and -20 in 2018.
Let's pick out a wide range of prop bet selections this week, from the standard Top 20 market to Top Nationality bets and even a First Round Leader wager.

Cam Davis is one of my outright picks but at +210 for a top 20 as well, I think it is worth doubling down in this market and making sure we are protected in case he just fails to get in contention.
The Australian finished 7th here a year ago and his T4 finish last week at the PGA Championship was his third top-7 in his last five strokeplay events.
Davis' ball striking was excellent last week and I see very little reason that he won't go well here again, after a fine effort on just his third start at Colonial, in 2022.

Ryan Palmer is a mainstay in the top 20 here at Colonial, having finished inside that number six times over the past 15 years.
This is Ryan Palmer's home course and his caddie plays out of here too, so between the two of them, they know exactly what to expect from Colonial Country Club.
The Texan finished T35 at the Wells Fargo Championship, where he was 2nd after the opening round and he was also 8th last time out at the Byron Nelson, where he was the co-leader after 54 holes.
Add to these two efforts a strong run at U.S. Open Qualifying where he just missed out, and you clearly have a player in form, and one who likes this course.
Palmer is 10th in Birdie Average over the past 3 months and he should be able to challenge the upper echelons of this leaderboard this week.

I have a hard time thinking Christiaan Bezuidenhout can win on the PGA Tour, but his skillset works perfectly here, and he's in a rich vein of form.
The South African has made 8 of 13 cuts in 2023 and finished inside the top 30 on five of those occasions. It wouldn't take a huge lift for him to finish inside the top 20 this week, but instead of betting in that market, I will bet that he can beat his compatriots.
Bezuidenhout finished 15th here last year, and I truly believe any finish between 15th and 30th this week could see him win in this market.
His main competition is Garrick Higgo, who has not finished better than 30th since the Farmers Insurance Open back in February, and who has missed the cut by a distance on his one and only start here.
M.J. Daffue is playing marginally better, but this isn't his sort of course, and his approach game is not really in good enough shape to contend here.
That leaves Erik Van Rooyen who has missed 4 of his last 6 cuts and is 0 for 2 for made cuts at Colonial, and Dylan Frittelli who is playing even worse, having made just one cut in his last eight starts.
The stars look to be aligning for Bezuidenhout who announced he is going to be a father for the first time this year, and he can cap that good news off with a big week in Texas.

Beau Hossler is more than capable of starting fast this week at Colonial, just like he has done two times in the past at this course.
Hossler was the co-leader after round 1 last year, an honor he shared with seven other players that day. He also opened with a 64 in 2018, but that was only good enough to sit two back of Kevin Na, who opened with a 62.
Throughout his career, Hossler has recorded three first-round leads, and on 17 occasions been within two of the lead, and a recent opening round 67 and closing 66 in Mexico to finish T10 is enough of a sign to suggest another fast start is on the horizon.
Hossler has made six straight cuts, has previous of starting fast here, and can be backed at 70/1 to lead from what looks to be the favorable afternoon wave tomorrow. Bet him to start his week off well.
