Scheffler and Burns will play together in Sunday’s final pairing at 1:40 PM ET, giving Burns a direct opportunity to apply pressure from the opening hole. Im tees off 10 minutes earlier at 1:30 PM ET alongside Jake Knapp, meaning he could potentially post a number before the leaders reach the closing stretch.

It has been a strange season by Scheffler's extraordinary standards. His only victory came at The American Express in January, and he has since piled up high finishes without converting them into trophies. He also missed his first PGA Tour cut in four years at the Scottish Open before finishing T4 at The Open and second at the 3M Open.
Memphis has finally given him the advantage he has been missing. Scheffler opened 68-61 before following his course-record-tying Friday round with a 2-under 68 on Saturday, finishing at 13-under. This is his first 54-hole lead since the 2025 Open Championship, when he entered Sunday in front and closed the tournament successfully.
That history makes -225 understandable despite the limited value. Scheffler has been extremely difficult to catch when controlling a tournament after 54 holes, and he now gets to play alongside his closest challenger rather than wondering what Burns is doing several groups ahead.

Burns created the biggest Saturday charge, firing a bogey-free 8-under 62 to jump 17 spots into a tie for second. He erased almost the entire gap Scheffler created with Friday’s 61 and now gets to stare down the World No. 1 directly in the final pairing.
This is also not Burns' first major Sunday opportunity of the summer. He has repeatedly put himself into contention at elite events, including strong runs at both The Open and U.S. Open, but has not consistently converted those chances into wins.
Burns may be the most legitimate threat because he has already demonstrated the scoring ceiling required to erase two shots quickly. If he keeps making putts at anything close to Saturday’s rate, Scheffler will have very little room for an early mistake.

Im has taken the completely opposite route to 11-under. He has been remarkably steady, shooting 66-66-67 through three rounds and remaining near the top of the leaderboard without needing one explosive day.
That consistency makes him dangerous from the group immediately ahead of Scheffler and Burns. Im tees off at 1:30 PM ET, so a fast start could allow him to briefly grab the lead and force the final pairing to react rather than simply protect position.
The +760 price reflects that he probably needs more help than Burns. Im has not shown the same recent ability to go extremely low, but another 66 or 67 could become very interesting if Scheffler plays Sunday closer to even par than the dominant level he showed Friday.
FedEx St. Jude Championship Betting Outlook
The biggest storyline is whether Scheffler can finally convert. His lone 2026 victory came nearly seven months ago, yet he remains World No. 1 and has spent much of the season hovering around contention without finishing tournaments.
This time, Scheffler owns both the scoreboard advantage and the preferred final-round position. Burns is dangerous enough to make -225 uncomfortable after Saturday’s 62, while Im is steady enough to remain attached if the leader struggles.
Scheffler’s season has been a down year only relative to the standard he created for himself. With Burns beside him at 1:40 PM ET and Im just ahead at 1:30 PM ET, Sunday gives him the clearest opportunity yet to prove that the lack of wins has been variance rather than a genuine closing problem.
