02/15 - Edmonton Oilers @ Carolina Hurricanes

Pick: Carolina Hurricanes 3-Way ML (in regulation) -120

Stake: 1.5u

Carolina returns home after a successful 5-game road trip over which they won 4 games, outscoring their opponents by an average of 3.80-1.80, exhibiting signs of dominance away from home. They've been really strong on home ice too, winning 6 of their last 8 games here at the PNC Arena and as they continue their playoff push they're gonna keep fighting hard in these ones. They beat this Oilers team 7-4 in Edmonton a few weeks ago and have gone 6-3 since, while the Oilers have gone 1-6 since that loss and are reeling, having lost 8 of their last 9 games allowing a whopping 4.33 goals in those games while scoring just 2.67 in response. Their defense has been absolutely abysmal and that's not a good recipe for success against a Canes team averaging 4.00 goals in their last 10 games. Edmonton's dropped 8 straight games against teams with winning records and given the form Carolina is in I like that to continue tonight.

Curtis McElhinney will start in net for the Canes and he's riding a hot streak at the moment, winning 7 of his last 8 games with a 2.63 GAA in those games. He's been really really solid on home ice this season with a 7-2-1 record and 2.11 GAA, and is undefeated in his career against Edmonton, going 6-0 with a 2.11 GAA - impressive stuff that bodes well for tonight's matchup. Meanwhile, the Oilers will start Mikko Koskinen in goal and he's been struggling lately, losing 5 straight starts with a 3.40 GAA in those games and is 0-1 with a 3.76 GAA in his career against Carolina.
