A two game slate tonight? Really? I do not understand the NHL scheduling situation at all. First week of the season, everyone is rested, healthy and pumped up so let's have a two game slate. On a Wednesday!
One of the only days of the week this time of the year there is no high level football on. We have one MLB game and two barely-FBS football games, this would be a perfect night for a six or seven game slate but here we are with two games. Anyways, I digress.
Tonight, the Pittsburgh Penguins are visiting the Detroit Red Wings for a primetime clash on TNT and I expect the offenses to show out for us.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Detroit Red Wings Prediction
This is not really a straight goalie fade, Tristan Jarry is a fine netminder with above average play. Despite some regression last year, Ville Husso is still a very talented goalie. With that said, so far this season both squads have shown off some serious firepower, and I expect a barn burner tonight. After laying a dud in the 4-2 home opener loss, the Pens have scored four & five goals in each of their last two games and rank within the top ten in the league for scoring. This team has some super star talent, the offense is going nowhere.
On the flip side, Detroit has been electric and is currently sporting the second best offensive unit in the league averaging 4.33 GPG. Four of their last five games have seen at least seven goals and if it was not for their 4-0 skunk against Columbus the other night, it would be five. These games are historically high scoring between each other and I expect a fun one tonight.
