Vancouver Canucks vs. New York Islanders Prediction: Can J.T. Miller, Canucks Continue Explosive Road Trip?
We kept the momentum rolling last night and kicked off our week with a nice little sweep, and I am looking to keep it rolling tonight. We have a loaded NHL slate, and I am ready to dive into some of my favorite plays on the board. To kick things off, we head to UBS Arena in Elmont, New York as the Islanders (18-11-10) host the Vancouver Canucks (26-11-3) in what should be a spirited affair.

Vancouver Canucks vs. New York Islanders Prediction
This is the first total to catch my eyes when I looked at the board, without a question. Recent trends and play this year help make this appealing right off the bat, but when you dive into the head-to-head numbers and it is even juicier. The over has hit in nine of the last 10 games head-to-head, and has hit in six straight with an average of 8.4 total GPG. Vancouver is sporting the second-best offensive unit in the league on home ice at 3.98 GPG and lead the league in total GPG average as well at 3.85. Isles are more middle of the pack, but are above the key number of three and have been playing well. The over has hit in four of the last five for the Isles.
Vancouver is exceptional for first period scoring this season as well; they play with a lot of pace out of the gates and they both have the cats that can go get after it. New York is a bit more in the middle of the pack, but they face a great squad on the road tonight so I expect some jump early.
