Edmonton Oilers vs. Arizona Coyotes Prediction: Can Connor McDavid, Oilers Dominate In Desert?

Daytime hockey! We have a loaded slate here on this fine Monday, and I want to dive into one of the afternoon games. The Edmonton Oilers (32-18-1) are in Tempe, Arizona for a clash with the Coyotes (23-27-1) at Mullet Arena, and I expect a high-scoring affair.

Edmonton Oilers vs. Arizona Coyotes Prediction

This is a terrible spot for Arizona; the desert dogs just played in Colorado last night and now have an early afternoon game against one of the hottest teams in the league. The absurd winning streak Edmonton was on may have ended, but this squad is only heating up. They dominate the ice against nearly every squad they face, and should be able to again tonight. Over the last two seasons, the Oilers have had their number dropping 5+ goals goals in five of their past six meetings with the desert dogs.

Edmonton was held scoreless in one of their last five games, yet they are still averaging four goals a game across their last five. With that in mind, the team total at -190 is way too rich for my blood, so I am going to play this two ways. I think Edmonton covers the puck line here, but goals should be scored in general. The over 6.5 has hit in five straight meetings, and Stuart Skinner has struggled a bit as of late. Edmonton should carry this one and set the tone early, but the style of play and pace with which this game will be played should help us hit this total as well.
