We have a loaded NHL Tuesday slate I am ready to dive into one of the most exciting matchups on the board. Two Western Conference juggernauts clash in this one as the Dallas Stars (35-16-9) are heading to Denver for a clash with the Colorado Avalanche (35-19-5) in what should be a really high pace game.

If you remove the Edmonton Oilers from the picture, these are undoubtedly the two top contenders from the Western Conference and I can assure you both squads know that. Dallas is coming off of an overtime loss to the New York Islanders and is looking to get anything whatsoever going right now. They have dropped five of their last six and and are dangerously close to dropping another, they need to win and have scored just four six goals in their last four games.
That is very unlike a team that ranks third best in the league in scoring with a 3.61 GPG average. Four straight under now for Dallas, I have to think the pendulum is ready to swing the other way. One of the only two teams ahead of them is their opponent in this one, the Colorado Avalanche who are sporting a 3.63 GPG average.
Four of the last five meetings head to head have gone over with the lone under falling just short of the number here. The last three meetings this season have been in Dallas with the last two going over the total and the first meeting this season back in October at Ball Arena went over as well. I know Jake Oettinger is going for Dallas but I really don't care, this one should be a slugfest and Nathan MacKinnon and Colorado are due for a game where all these incredible chances they keep creating actually find the back of the net.
