The Montreal Canadiens are coming off of an overtime loss against the Edmonton Oilers. The Vancouver Canucks on the other hand beat the Buffalo Sabres, a fellow Atlantic Division team that they beat 3-2 in regulation, keeping their record 7-0-0 at home against the Atlantic Division this season.

The last time these two teams played was in Montreal where the Canadiens came off an overtime win against the Boston Bruins and the Canucks ten game winning streak came to an end against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Canucks ended up winning in Montreal 5-2.
This is not a not a bounce back game for Rick Tocchet and the Canucks tonight but still a lot of work to do after giving up a late goal against Sabres and blowing leads against the Washington Capitals and Colorado Avalanche the games before. While the spread could be enticing and the Canucks did get the empty net last game, they conceded with 25 seconds left cutting the lead to 3-2.
They will have it tough against one of the best teams against the puck line and having backup goal keeper Casey DeSmith starting tonight. He's done well but six out of eight OTL for Canucks has been with DeSmith.
Canadiens fans will be out to cheer on their visitors but with their form plummeting, it will be a huge upset if they do. The Canucks have had to do some shifting of line without star Dakota Joshua. A fourth liner has had a huge impact on a squad where all lines are producing well.
Fortunately, seems like Elisa Pettersson has found his form last game after it's been all JT Miller carrying. Expecting Tocchet and the Canucks to start hot and put this one to bed early after not scoring in the last period last time around.
